2020 is set to be a groundbreaking year of music for four-time GRAMMY® Award winner Keith Urban. Today, he releases the brand-new single “God Whispered Your Name,” which is expected to be followed by several international releases before an album release later this year. Three distinctive shows, each with its own production and set list, will highlight Urban’s year on stage, including 14 concert events at Las Vegas’ prestigious Caesar’s Palace Colosseum, a European tour this May and select fairs and festivals later this summer.

While 2020 shapes up to be a big year for Urban, it follows one that saw him take home both the ACM and CMA Awards for Entertainer of the Year. He officially wrapped a nearly two-year stretch that began with the #1 simultaneous debut (U.S., Canada and Australia) of his ninth studio album, Graffiti U, and concluded with his critically acclaimed “GRAFFITI U WORLD TOUR,” which played to more than one million fans in seven countries on three continents.

Graffiti U followed 2016’s Ripcord, which featured five #1 hits, including “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” which won Best Single at the 2017 CMA Awards and Favorite Country Song at the American Music Awards, where he also collected trophies for Favorite Country Album and Favorite Male Country Artist.

Urban has twice had an album simultaneously atop the all-genre charts in the U.S., Canada and Australia and is the only male country artist to have achieved the mark. He now stands at #8 on Billboard’s All-Time Country Airplay Chart as the artist with the most consecutive top 10 songs on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart (38) – a streak that started in August of 2000.

Urban has won four Grammy Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, 13 Country Music Association Awards, four People’s Choice Awards and four American Music Awards. Also, he is a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

The 55th ACM AWARDS will feature exciting performances, unprecedented collaborations, surprising moments and more to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for the 55th ACM AWARDS are available for purchase now at ACMawards.com.

SINGER AND ACTRESS MANDY MOORE NEARLY WALKED AWAY FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS, SHE TELLS “CBS SUNDAY MORNING”

SINGER AND ACTRESS MANDY MOORE NEARLY WALKED AWAY FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS, SHE TELLS “CBS SUNDAY MORNING”

Moore Tells Luke Burbank: “I Had Done Four Failed TV Pilots – So I Was Kind of at the Point Where I Was Like, ‘Maybe This Acting Thing Is Done for Me’”
Singer and actress Mandy Moore has had hit records and is now on a hit TV show, but not so long ago, in the wake of a divorce and challenges in getting an acting job, Moore considered walking away, she tells Luke Burbank in an interview for CBS SUNDAY MORNING to be broadcast Sunday, March 1 (9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.
In an emotional interview, Moore opens up to Burbank about her career, her new music, and her work on the TV show “This Is Us.” Moore, 35, has been in the business since she was 15, first in music with the pop hit “Candy,” which led to work for MTV (a subsidiary of ViacomCBS), then movies. She later released five albums before she met and married singer Ryan Adams. She says she thought the relationship would spark her creativity, but it had the opposite effect.
“I just felt like I was at a point in my life where I was the most comfortable making myself the last priority. And I made myself as small as possible in order to make someone else comfortable,” Moore says of the marriage, which ended in 2016.
Then, last year, Moore and other women claimed their relationships with Adams were toxic.
“There was so much to unpack. It really destroyed my relationship to music. It destroyed – oh, now I’m going to get emotional … it destroyed my sense of self. It destroyed my belief in who I was, as a musician and as a singer.”
By 2015, she tells Burbank, she considered walking away from the business.
“I had done four failed TV pilots,” she says. “So I was kind of at the point where I was like, ‘Maybe this acting thing is done for me.’ Like, ‘Maybe I need to hang it up and go back to Florida, go to school, go try my hand at something else.”
She didn’t, of course, and eventually landed a lead role on the critically praised drama “This Is Us.” And now, with her confidence restored, Moore is back making music and touring behind a new album, Silver Landings.
Moore talks with Burbank about her new music; working with her second husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith; and hitting the road for her first tour in a decade.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING is broadcast Sundays (9:00-10:30 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.
