Season Two Launches as A Global Series Premiere on Saturday, October 5 at 8PM ET/PT
In CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS, Terri, Bindi and Robert continue Steve Irwin's mission to bring people closer to animals and inspire them to become Wildlife Warriors who work together to protect and preserve our environment and its wildlife. Never before has it been so important to spread their message of conservation to ensure an abundance of wildlife for generations to come. The new series premieres on Saturday, October 5 at 8PM ET/PT.

In the season premiere, the family builds a spectacular new home for their crocodiles in preparation for Australia Zoo's 50th Anniversary. Robert helps move all their crocodiles and alligators by hand, starting with Bosco, the most aggressive croc in the Zoo; Bindi investigates a knee problem on Forest, the Zoo's largest giraffe; and Terri helps Harley the koala find love to help keep the koala population thriving. Later in the season, Robert continues to take on daring missions such as swimming with Gloria, a 12-foot reticulated python in the Zoo's Crocoseum, and learning to handle his first ever wild rattlesnake in Arizona. Terri returns to her home state of Oregon to do a special check-up on Brady the cougar, a species she is extremely passionate about, and Bindi and fiancée, Chandler Powell, release animals that have been nursed back to health at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.

Viewers of the show can also head to Animal Planet GO, YouTube, and Facebook to experience a mid-form series Crikey! It's the Irwins: Robert to the Rescue, in which cameras follow Robert and the Australia Zoo Rescue Team, as they respond to calls of sick and injured wildlife in the local community.

[via press release from Animal Planet] ANIMAL PLANET GREENLIGHTS SECOND SEASON OF "CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS"
Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin Continue Steve Irwin's Legacy

Animal Planet has greenlit Season Two of CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS, as announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night. The series shares the tireless work of the Irwin family - Terri, Bindi and Robert - as they continue Steve Irwin's mission to bring people closer to animals and inspire people to become "Wildlife Warriors", with their messages of wildlife conservation. Their aim is to ensure an abundance of wildlife for generations to come. The current Season One finale of CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS airs Sunday, January 27 at 8PM.

"I'm so excited for the opportunity to film season two of Crikey! It's the Irwins with Animal Planet," said Terri Irwin. "I am incredibly honored to be continuing Steve's legacy and to be encouraging everyone to take a stand to help protect wildlife and wild places."

"Our audiences have a front row seat for the Irwin family's wildlife adventures, immersed in the sights and sounds of so many incredible animals," said Susanna Dinnage, Global President of Animal Planet. "We are delighted to be sharing their new and inspiring stories later this year with viewers all over the world."

This season on CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS, audiences met a wide range of animals including a giraffe named Scarlett whom Terri transported over 1200 miles to participate in a breeding program - part of Australia Zoo's conservation efforts; Cedar, a rescue koala that gave birth to a rare set of twin joeys, closely watched and cared for by Bindi and the team; and Graham, a huge crocodile originally rescued by Steve. After months of croc-wrangling training, Robert finally got to feed Graham live at the Crocoseum at Australia Zoo, to the delight of visitors. The show also documented the family traveling to South Africa on visits to Balule and Entabeni Game Reserves; the Great Barrier Reef; and to the far north of Australia to the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve on Queensland's Cape York for an annual crocodile research trip.

CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS launched globally to Animal Planet in more than 205 countries and territories and according to the most-readily available data, the series has reached more global viewers (36.2MM) than any other globally launched Animal Planet series. In the U.S., the premiere episode ranked as the highest rated series premiere on the network in five years among Adults 25-54 and the highest rated series premiere ever among Women 25-54. Top markets around the world where the series has delivered double and triple-digit ratings increases for Animal Planet include EMEA (UK, Poland, Romania); Nordic (Sweden, Denmark, Norway); LATAM (Brazil, Mexico); and APAC (Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines). In both the UK and Australia, CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS ranks as the #1 premiere title on Animal Planet over the prior 52 weeks.

New York, NY - Oct. 16, 2018 - Today, Animal Planet Global President Susanna Dinnage announced that Animal Planet, one of Discovery, Inc's great global networks, has a new brand identity as part of a worldwide strategy to take the network forward as a global brand leader. With globally-appealing programming and talent faithful to new brand values, Animal Planet's mission is squarely centered around keeping the childhood joy and wonder of animals alive by bringing people up close in every way. The Animal Planet global brand identity will provide a multi-platform experience for every member of the family and begins as a phased rollout on Oct. 28 in the U.S. and UK followed by all remaining countries and territories by the end of 1Q19 to create brand and content consistency across Animal Planet which is currently in 360 million homes in more than 205 countries and territories.
Animal Planet appointed Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv (CGH), an an independent New York-based graphic design firm specializing in the development of trademarks and identity programs, to design the Animal Planet global brand mark which is optimised for use across multiple platforms, responsive in digital and allows for the brand to diversify into products and services. Among others, marks created by CGH include the current mark for NBC, Showtime, PBS, NYU, Chase Bank and US Open.

Off the heels of 2018 successes ranging from Animal Planet's highest rated quarter (1Q18) in Prime among Adults 25-54 in almost two years (2Q16) to the network's successful first-ever global series premiere of Dodo Heroes, the most-watched 2018 freshman series to date, Animal Planet will blend consumer's highly valued personal connections with animals with powerful natural history storytelling and content designed for optimization on all screens and platforms.

"Animal Planet has been a much-loved brand around the world for more than 20 years and the time has never been more right to engage with mass audiences across every platform who are as passionate about animals as we are." said Dinnage. "We are able to reach all generations through our content and storytelling - we are here to entertain and delight by bringing people up close to animals and nature. With recent successes we go from strength to strength as we position Animal Planet as a global brand leader."

"Animal Planet required a mark to represent the global aspect of the brand, as an experience that translates across countries, regions and cultures and beyond linear: a platform agnostic approach," said Pablo Pulido, Vice President, Marketing, Animal Planet. "CGH is known for developing iconic brand marks and I'm excited they delivered a truly global mark for Animal Planet."
"We are thrilled to be working with Animal Planet and wanted to capture the energy and joy of this beloved brand. Building on Animal Planet's original mark, the new leaping elephant is fresh and distinctive, and should be able to travel across platforms, audiences and the world." said Sagi Haviv, partner, Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv.

Animal Planet's upcoming programming will expand on previously announced original series, beginning with the global series premiere of CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS which provides a rare front row seat to the Irwin family's global wildlife adventures as audiences are introduced to the amazing animals and wild places that continue to inspire their conservation work that carries on Steve Irwin's mission to bring people closer to animals and ignite the connection that will ensure an abundance of wildlife for generations to come. (Eureka-14 episodes)

Other new series to premiere with the Animal Planet global brand rollout include:
· AMANDA TO THE RESCUE - With a joy and passion larger than life, Amanda Giese welcomes an eclectic group of dogs into her home in Washington State that others have given up on. Amanda believes kindness is cool and that every animal has hope. Alongside Amanda are her two kids, Jade and Beast, and her partner Gary. Together, the family cares for animals in need and helps them get the second chances and loving forever homes they deserve. AMANDA TO THE RESCUE premieres Sunday, Oct 28 at 9PM. · BIG CAT TALES is a five-part television event that premieres Monday, Oct. 29 at 8PM, which marks the return of Jonathan and Angela Scott and Jackson Ole Looseyia to Animal Planet where they were first seen by U.S. audiences beginning in 1999. [via press release from Animal Planet] THE IRWIN FAMILY - TERRI, BINDI AND ROBERT - COME HOME TO ANIMAL PLANET IN "CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS" WHICH LAUNCHES AS A GLOBAL SERIES PREMIERE OCT. 28 AT 8PM ET/PT

-The Irwins return to Animal Planet for the first time as a family in all-new series that continues Steve Irwin's legacy -

Lace up your boots because you're about to embark on the journey of a lifetime with the family that's bringing khaki back! The Irwins - Terri, Bindi and Robert - return to Animal Planet in a new series that gives audiences an all-access, front row seat to experience the sights and sounds of their thrilling wildlife adventures around the globe and the amazing animals that continue to inspire their conservation efforts. From running Australia's largest family-owned zoo, Australia Zoo in Queensland, to crisscrossing the world protecting and celebrating the most wondrous animals on the planet, The Irwins work thoughtfully and tirelessly to carry on Steve's mission to bring people closer to animals and ignite the connection that will ensure an abundance of wildlife for generations to come. CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS launches as a global series premiere beginning Sunday, October 28 at 8pm ET/PT and will be seen in Animal Planet's 360 million homes around the world.
CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS features the Irwins working together to care for more than 1,200 animals at Australia Zoo; overseeing a world class wildlife hospital, the largest of its kind in the world; and conducting high-octane global expeditions. Animal Planet audiences ride along with Terri as she propels Steve's conservation mission forward, which has included expanding the once two-acre Australia Zoo into a world-class 750+-acre zoo with 105 acres open to the public. Bindi, now 20 years old, focuses her passion for animals at Australia Zoo's Wildlife Hospital, Australia's best equipped wildlife treatment facility which rescues, rehabilitates and releases sick, injured, or orphaned native wildlife. Robert demonstrates a curiosity, deep knowledge and expertise for all the animals around him, as well as an infectious enthusiasm to share this experience with others; a memorable trait often showcased by his father.

In the season premiere of CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS, among other stories, audiences will see Robert, after months of croc wrangling training with Steve Irwin's best friend Wes, take the final step in his journey to feed Graham, a huge crocodile at the zoo's famous Crocoseum. Originally rescued by Steve, Graham is the Zoo's largest and most volatile big croc, with a history of dragging Steve Irwin into the water during a routine capture, and separately injuring Wes with a surprise death roll that left him hospitalized. Bindi helps tend to Cedar, a rescue koala that has given birth to a rare set of twin joeys who must now survive the 6 to 8-month period before they can leave Cedar's pouch. Bindi and the zookeepers face ongoing challenges to keep the twin joeys alive as nature and survival of the fittest comes into play as one of the rarest types of koala pregnancies leaves the two joeys struggling and fighting for life.

During the season, Animal Planet viewers will witness a wide range of the joy and wonder of animals as the Irwins take on many projects, including the amazing transportation of a giraffe named Scarlett, who travels over 1200 miles to participate in a breeding program as a part of the Zoo's conservation efforts, and the release of rescued and recuperated wildlife, including Eurong the turtle, Grub, the baby Echidna, and more. Viewers will also follow the family as they travel to locations that include the stunning Lady Elliot Island, the southernmost coral cay of the Great Barrier Reef.
CRIKEY! IT'S THE IRWINS is produced for Animal Planet by Eureka where Paul Franklin, Chris Culvenor, Wes Dening and Rod Parker serve as executive producers. For Animal Planet, Erin Wanner is executive producer, Sarah Russell is producer and Paris Peckerman serves as production coordinator.
