MERLIN (1998) - In a time long past, when magic was fading from the world of men, the malevolent sorceress Mab (Miranda Richardson) summoned forth a mighty wizard to keep the power of the Old Ways alive. The wizard's name was Merlin (Sam Neill). But when his heart is touched by the love of the beautiful Nimue (Isabella Rossellini), Merlin turns away from Mab's dark enchantments. Allying himself with the young warrior who will rise to become the legendary King Arthur, Merlin pledges his mystic skills to Arthur's visionary cause: Bringing peace and justice to the realm haunted by monsters and ravaged by war and setting the stage for the ultimate clash of Good versus Evil. MERLIN: THE RETURN (2000) - For 1500 years, the powers of Merlin (Rik Mayall) have kept the evil Mordred (Craig Sheffer) and his mother Morgana (Grethe Fox) captive in another world. When a present-day scientist (Tia Carrere) stumbles upon the gateway between this world and the one Mordred is imprisoned in, it's up to a recently re-awakened King Arthur (Patrick Bergin) Merlin, and Lancelot (Adrian Paul) to stop Mordred from returning. MERLIN'S APPRENTICE (2006) - The great sorcerer Merlin has returned to Camelot, a kingdom now vulnerable to ill fates and war since the theft of the Holy Grail, its greatest gift and protection. With the help of Jack, an irascible young beggar-thief imbued with his own unruly magic, the fight against unknown dangers begins-to find the Grail, restore it to its rightful place, and bring Camelot back to its glory days. The original 1998 mini-series Merlin, starring Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, The Hunt for Red October, The Piano, Omen III: The Final Conflict, Reilly: Ace of Spies, The Tudors, Peaky Blinders), has been released on DVD several times before: first in 1998, then again in 2004, and most recently just last year, in 2017. But now Mill Creek Entertainment has a new trick up their sleeves! Merlin - The 3 Film Collection, takes the original 1998 mini-series and collects it with both sequels: the 2000 telefilm Merlin: The Return starring Rik Mayall (The Young Ones, Bottom, Watership Down, Black Adder) in the title role, and the 2006 mini-series Merlin's Apprentice (a.k.a. The Search for the Holy Grail), with Neill returning to the title role, and Miranda Richardson (the Harry Potter films) returning from the first mini-series as well. Mill Creek's Merlin - The 3 Film Collection will be available as a 3-DVD set on June 5th, priced at $19.98 SRP. Digital copies of each of the episodes are also included as a bonus, via MCE's proprietary digital streaming service, "Watch Mill Creek." Below you'll find a picture of the new packaging for this collection, along with an Amazon.com pre-order button link:
