- 15-time Billboard Music Award winner, Justin Bieber, could tie Taylor Swift’s previous all-time record of most BBMA wins (21), if he wins in all 6 of his categories. Bieber is nominated twice in the Top Dance/Electronic Song category.
- If first-time Billboard Music Award nominee, The Chainsmokers, win 11 trophies in a single night, they will pass the current record of most BBMA wins by any Duo/Group, currently held by Destiny’s Child with 10 wins.
- 2-time Billboard Music Award winner and 2017 Top Duo/Group nominee, Florida Georgia Line is nominated for 6 awards in 5 categories – the most of any country artist this year.
- With 16 nominations this year, 2017 Top Duo/Group nominee Twenty One Pilots received the third most nominations, including an impressive 3 nods in the Top Rock Song category.

TOP ARTIST
- 50 Cent, Adele, Garth Brooks, Destiny’s Child, Taylor Swift and Usher are tied for the most wins in this category with 2 wins. Adele is a 2017 nominee in this category and if she wins, she will become the artist with the most Top Artist awards.
- Justin Bieber is the artist with the most wins (2) in this category, having taken home the trophy in 2013 and 2016. He is nominated again this year.
- Adele, Rihanna and Taylor Swift lead with 2 wins each in this category. Both Adele and Rihanna are nominated this year and have the chance to become the most decorated Top Female Artist with 3 wins.
- One Direction currently holds the record with 3 wins in this category. The group previously won in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
- R. Kelly has the most wins for Top R&B Artist. He won the category in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2001. Usher follows with 3 wins in 1998, 2004 and most recently in 2011. The Weeknd won this award in 2016 and is nominated again at the 2017 show.
- LL Cool J, along with Eminem and protégé 50 Cent are tied in this category with 2 wins each. LL Cool J won Top Rap Artist in 1991 and 1996, Eminem won in 2011 and 2014, while 50 Cent actually won the award twice, years before his mentor, in 2003 and 2005. Drake took home this award in 2016, and is nominated again this year, giving him the chance to join LL Cool J, Eminem and 50 Cent as all-time winners in this category.
- Garth Brooks has won this award three times in 1991, 1993 and 1998. Florida Georgia Line is the only nominee this year to have won the award previously (in 2015).
- No artist has ever won this award more than once. Twenty One Pilots took home the award in 2016 and is nominated again this year. If they win at the 2017 show, they will take the title of most all-time wins and be the first artist to win this award in back-to-back years.
- Romeo Santos and Shakira are tied for most wins in this category. He previously won Top Latin Artist back-to-back in 2015 and 2016, while Shakira won this category back-to-back in 2011 and 2012.
- Chris Tomlin won this award in 2001 and 2014 and is a nominee again this year.
