FOX Entertainment Signs Writer/Producer Kyle Killen to Exclusive, Broadcast-Only Deal
Under terms of the agreement, Killen will develop scripted series for the FOX network.

FOX ENTERTAINMENT SIGNS WRITER/PRODUCER KYLE KILLEN TO EXCLUSIVE, BROADCAST-ONLY DEAL

FOX Entertainment has signed writer/producer Kyle Killen ("Halo," "Mind Games," "Awake") to a direct, exclusive, broadcast-only talent deal, it was announced today by Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, FOX Entertainment.

Under terms of the agreement, Killen will develop scripted series for the FOX network. Projects will be developed under the Chapter Eleven production banner, where Killen is partnered with Scott Pennington.

"I have had the pleasure of working with Kyle on a number of series over the past decade. He is an incredible talent and that rare voice who is able to write in any genre that interests him. As FOX Entertainment continues to pursue its hand-crafted approach to development, I know working closely with Kyle, along with Scott and Keith Redmon at Anonymous Content, will result in the creation of distinctive programming for viewers," said Thorn.

Killen added, "Some of my favorite experiences in television have come from working with Michael, so the opportunity to collaborate with him and the talented team he's assembled at FOX was a no-brainer for us."

Killen's recent credits include the upcoming cable drama "Halo," based on the hit videogame, and starring Pablo Schreiber. Previously, he created the network dramas "Mind Games" and "Awake," as well as FOX's "Lone Star." Killen also wrote the feature "The Beaver," directed by Jodie Foster and starring Mel Gibson.

Other recent direct-talent deals at FOX Entertainment include those with Mara Brock Akil, Jeff Davis and Sarah Watson, the latter of whom wrote and will executive-produce a drama pilot from SideCar Content Accelerator, Warner Bros. Television and Amblin TV.

Competition series MENTAL SAMURAI has been renewed for a second season, it was announced today by Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment & Specials, FOX Entertainment. Season Two of MENTAL SAMURAI will premiere Wednesday, April 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

MENTAL SAMURAI is the perfect combination of game show, sporting event and thrill ride, in which everyday people from across the country battle each other and the clock, answering a wide variety of fun and interactive questions about topics ranging from the Hall of Presidents to Hall & Oates. If that wasn’t enough, players must tackle these difficult questions while being whipped around the arena strapped into Ava, a high-speed capsule and robotic arm capable of twisting and turning a full 360 degrees! The stakes have never been higher this season, as players will earn money with each correct answer, but with even one mistake, the ride comes to a screeching halt. In the end, the player who correctly answers the most questions the fastest will enter the Circle of Samurai for a chance to win up to $100,000 and return the next night to face a new group of colorful competitors vying to win the title of MENTAL SAMURAI.

RETURNS FOR 17TH SEASON ON FOX

New Season! New Twists! New Surprises!

Auditions to be Held in Miami, New York City and Los Angeles

FOX has renewed the multi-Emmy Award-winning dance competition series SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for a 17th season. From Industrial Media’s 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions, and hosted by Emmy Award nominee Cat Deeley, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will return this summer on FOX. 

Auditions for the 17th season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE kick off next month. Dancers can audition online by registering and uploading a video, or providing a link to a video of their performance, at https://soyouthinkyoucandance2020season17.castingcrane.com/age-gate. Selected dancers will be invited to attend auditions in Miami (March 19 and 20), New York (March 28 and 29) or Los Angeles (April 4 and 5). From those auditions, the dancers selected will be invited to Los Angeles to perform for judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Laurieann Gibson.


All persons chosen to participate as contestants are required to verify identity and eligibility to participate in the United States and fulfill the requirements of the production in the United States. Dancers must be no younger than 18 or older than 30 years of age on the day of their in-person auditions. Dancers must provide legal, valid proof of age when they register for auditions.

The deadline to register online for a chance to audition in Miami is Sunday, March 8, 2020 at midnight PT. The deadline to register online for a chance to audition in New York is Sunday, March 15, 2020 at midnight PT. The deadline to register online for a chance to audition in Los Angeles is Sunday, March 22, 2020 at midnight PT.

Munoz, 19, break-danced off with the cash prize of $250,000, the cover of “Dance Spirit” magazine and the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. Celebrating its momentous 16th season, members of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE’s Top 10 finalists made their way across America, performing in 40 cities, as part of Season 16s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE LIVE! 2019
