Beverly Hills, Calif. - January 22, 2018 -Starz, a Lionsgate company (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), today announced the premium cable network has acquired the unscripted 10-part docuseries "America to Me," created by award-winning filmmaker Steve James (Hoop Dreams, The Interrupters, Life Itself), and produced by Participant Media and Kartemquin Films.

"America To Me" follows students, teachers and administrators in suburban Chicago's Oak Park and River Forest High School, one of the country's most exemplary and diverse public schools, over the course of a year as they grapple with decades-long racial and educational inequities - in addition to the challenges that today's teenagers face. Digging deep into the experiences of a racially diverse student population, "America to Me" sparks extremely candid conversations about what has succeeded and what has failed in the quest to achieve racial equality and overcome bias in our education system. Part observational character story and part high school confessional, James captures critical moments within this vibrant high school ecosystem.

Starz retains all domestic multiplatform pay TV and SVOD rights to the series. Lionsgate, which represents international rights to Participant's feature film and select documentaries, will retain all international and domestic distribution and home entertainment rights to the series as well.
Vice President of Original Programming Patrick McDonald is the Starz executive overseeing this docuseries. Negotiations were brokered by Brett Marottoli, Head of Program Acquisitions for Starz, along with Gabriel Brakin and Krista Wegener for Participant and Endeavor Content on behalf of Participant/Kartemquin.

Documentary Chronicles Unique Bond between NFL Coaching Legends Bill Belichick and Bill Parcells

The next documentary from ESPN Films' Peabody and Emmy award-winning 30 for 30 series will be "The Two Bills," featuring legendary football coaches Bill Belichick and Bill Parcells being interviewed together for the first time since 1991. Directed by Ken Rodgers and produced by NFL Films, "The Two Bills" will premiere Thursday, Feb. 1, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.

"The Two Bills" traces the relationship between these two coaching masters that spans over four decades. They first worked side by side as assistants with the New York Giants, and after Parcells took over as head coach, they won two Super Bowls together. Buttressed by what he learned from Parcells, Belichick has won five Super Bowls of his own with the Patriots and has the opportunity to capture yet another at next week's Super Bowl LII in Minnesota.

Directed by Alexandra Shiva (How to Dance in Ohio) and produced by Blumhouse and Gidalya Pictures, This is Home is an intimate portrait of four Syrian refugee families arriving in America and struggling to find their footing. Displaced from their homes and separated from loved ones, they are given eight months of assistance from the International Rescue Committee to become self-sufficient. As they learn to adapt to challenges, including the newly imposed travel ban, their strength and resilience are tested.

After surviving the traumas of war, the families arrive in Baltimore, Maryland and are met with a whole new set of challenges. The Investigative Drama Series Starring Jason Priestley Airs Back-to-Back New Episodes Every Sunday Starting at 9/8c PM

"Private Eyes" will make its network debut Sunday, February 11, starting at 9/8c PM. The 10-episode season from Entertainment One (eOne) will air each Sunday night with back-to-back new episodes. In 2014, the folks at Warner Home Video released DVDs of Mayberry R.F.D. - The Complete 1st Season into stores, priced at $29.99 SRP. It eventually went out of print, though, and now used copies can easily go for over $100 each...while "new, still wrapped" copies can easily go for 3 times that much (or more!). It's rare, and in high demand. But now you don't have to pay through the nose for it any more.

Today the Warner Archive Collection announced that it will re-release the title as an MOD (manufacture on demand) item this coming February 27th. It's expected to be identical in terms of on-disc contents, and it even has the same package art (see an image of the cover, below). This is the first of three seasons, and if it sells well enough then perhaps the Warner Archive will see their way clear to release MOD sets of the second and third season, too? We're not sure, but the possibility is always there!

Price for the new MOD release of The Complete 1st Season is $34.99 SRP, which is five dollars more than the original in-store release. Inflation? We don't know. In 1983, the CBS network aired 13 episodes (with 2 segments each, for 26 cartoons in all) of the classic Hanna-Barbera animated show. The only time this program was represented on DVD was when a segment was included as part of the 2010 Warner release, Saturday Morning Cartoons: 1980's Vol 1...a set that contained cartoons from eleven different shows!

Now the Warner Archive Collection has scheduled The Biskitts - The Complete Series for release on DVD this coming February 20th. You'll get the entire kit and caboodle on disc for $24.99 SRP. 1947 - KTLA, Channel 5, in Hollywood, CA, began operation as the first commercial television station west of the Mississippi River.

1968 - "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In", debuted on NBC TV.

1973 - Joe Frazier lost the first fight of his professional career to George Foreman. He had been the undefeated heavyweight world champion since February 16, 1970 when he knocked out Jimmy Ellis. The event was HBO's first televised boxing match.

1987 - Phil Donahue became the first talk show host to tape a show from inside the Soviet Union. The shows were shown later in the year.

1990 - Guns 'N' Roses guitarist Slash used profanity numerous times on live television while accepting an American Music Award.

2002 - Pat Summerall announced that he would leave his NFL broadcasting partner, John Madden, after they called the Super Bowl for Fox Sports. The two had worked together for 21 years.

2010 - Conan O'Brien's hosted his last episode of "The Tonight Show."
