Emmy Award-Winning Show to Air Sundays-Thursdays with Host/Comedian Ben Bailey
  • About the show:
Bravo is reviving the Emmy Award-winning gameshow “Cash Cab” from Lion Television, an All3Media company, and bringing back host and comedian Ben Bailey. New Yorkers and tourists alike have pined for a chance to test their knowledge and win money in the iconic Cash Cab. Now, they may get a chance, and this time with a Bravo twist. In this series reboot, the questions will include more for lovers of pop culture and even a few appearances from Bravolebrities.
Each episode will feature two to three games, and much like the original series it will all start the second the contestant enters the Cash Cab. If the passenger can answer enough questions correctly before making it to their destination, they’ll win big bucks. However, three wrong answers and they’re kicked out of the Cash Cab and back on the street. Along the way they’ll get two shout-outs – one on social media and the other via a street shout out - where the contestant can pull over and ask a stranger for help. Passengers who successfully make it to their destination can simply walk away with their money or they can play a double or nothing video bonus round, either going home incredibly happy or with nothing at all.
  • About Ben Bailey:
Before he got behind the wheel of the “Cash Cab,” host Ben Bailey began his career as a Stand Up comedian. As a young man, Bailey left his home in a small town in New Jersey and headed to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. Just a few weeks later he found himself onstage at The Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip. He soon after returned to the East Coast and quickly became a crowd favorite at the clubs in New York City. He has since performed at all the major festivals including Montreal and Chicago (Just For Laughs), The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and at clubs and theaters around the world. Currently, Bailey tours for his latest Stand Up special “Ben Bailey Live & Uncensored.” He can also be heard on his popular podcast “Tall But True.”
Previously, Bailey has starred in two specials for Comedy Central and more recently appeared in "Road Rage and Accidental Ornithology," which is currently streaming on Netflix. He has gone on to host several other series including "Who's Still Standing" for NBC, "Best in The Business" and "After the Catch" for Discovery. He has appeared in numerous other shows including "30 Rock," "Parenthood," "Law and Order," and "One Life to Live" to name a few. Additionally, he’s been featured in several films including "Bad Parents," "Don't Shoot the Pharmacist," and "Bad Meat."

New York, NY – July 2, 2019 – Bravo Media is reviving the Emmy Award-winning gameshow “Cash Cab” from Lion Television, an All3Media company, and bringing back host and comedian Ben Bailey, it was announced today by Rachel Smith, Senior Vice President, Development, Bravo Media. This comes on the heels of Bravo announcing its reboot of the iconic dating series, “Blind Date.” “Cash Cab” begins shooting this summer and will premiere later this year.

Comedian Ben Bailey and his famous taxi return to the sizzling streets of New York City to give unsuspecting passengers a ride they will never forget when CASH CAB returns Friday, July 27 at 7pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel. The new season launches with a celebration for the 30th anniversary of Discovery’s Shark Week and puts the player’s knowledge to the test on all things sharks!

The fin-tastic season kicks off as three chums from Ohio hail the Cash Cab on their very first day in New York, and a family of three go for a ride as their youngest member proves kids really do know best, impressing Ben with her smarts. Then, Shark Week and Fleet week collide when three midshipmen docked in town jump into the cab for the ride of their lives. The episode features videos from some of the most renowned divers and photographers who audiences have seen braving the waters year after year bringing these beautiful creatures to the screen, including Andrew Mayne and Andy Casagrande. Will they have what it takes to navigate the waters of Shark Week and stay alive in the cab?

The all-new season continues on Friday, August 3 as Ben Bailey’s lucky passengers take on the classic Cash Cab trivia. From pop culture to hard science, traveling uptown to downtown, contestants will showcase their ability to think under pressure as the sights of NYC zoom by – but can their trivia skills get them to the final destination?

(New York) – Temperatures are rising and so is the competition on Discovery’s CASH CAB!  Comedian Ben Bailey and his taxi return to the sizzling streets of New York City, giving unsuspecting passengers a break from the heat and a ride they won’t ever forget.  The Emmy-Award® winning series CASH CAB returns to Discovery Channel in July.   In addition, viewers can also catch up on past seasons of CASH CAB on the Discovery GO app – free with their paid TV subscription.

Comedian David Steinberg (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, INSIDE COMEDY, SEINFELD, and MAD ABOUT YOU) returns to the series as executive producer along with All3Media’s Lion USA Tony Tackaberry and Allison Corn.  Robyn Todd serves as co-executive producer with  Bailey as an executive producer.

A favorite among audiences around the world, CASH CAB will once again hit the streets of New York City, with Bailey as the guide.  Zig-zagging through New York City traffic, Bailey’s lucky passengers will take on classic CASH CAB trivia en route to their destination. From gold to moonshine to Christmas trees to the Cash Cab – Discovery’s MEGA WEEK features premieres and supersized episodes of the network’s top series. The week-long programming block packs in 10 premieres – including fan-favorites GOLD RUSH, STREET OUTLAWS, ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER, and HOMESTEAD RESCUE, the season finale of Discovery’s all-new hit series FINDING ESCOBAR’S MILLIONS, the holiday special A VERY DISCOVERY CHRISTMAS, and the much-anticipated premiere of CASH CAB. MEGA WEEK kicks off Sunday, December 3 at 9pm ET/PT on Discovery.

MEGA WEEK embarks with an all-new episode of ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER on Sunday, December 3 at 9pm ET/PT, which follows singer-songwriter Jewel as she returns to Alaska to teach her son the ways of the homestead. At 10pm ET/PT, a special episode of ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER looks at the Kilchers’ arsenal of equipment, machines, and weapons that have been vital for their family’s survival in Alaska for 80 years through today.

Some unwitting passengers will even be joined by a guest celebrity who help the passengers rack up the cash. If the riders and celebrities get three questions wrong, though, they're out on the street.

Discovery breaks out the mistletoe and holly in Appalachia for the MOONSHINERS CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, premiering Tuesday, December 5 at 8pm ET/PT. Tim and JT team up with Tickle's mother and daughter to create a Christmas surprise that he won't soon forget. At 9pm ET/PT, moonshine season is in full swing when an all-new episode of MOONSHINERS premieres. Mark and Digger are ready to test out their 3-pot still in Tennessee, Chico and Sondra employ a four-legged still hand, Josh rides under the radar in South Carolina, and Tim hopes to teach JT about his backwoods roots. At 10pm ET/PT, two elite bush craft masters go head to head building both a bridge over a river, and a waterproof shelter using nothing but 3 hand tools in a special mega-episode of BUSHCRAFT BUILD-OFF.

The Raney family steps in on Wednesday, December 6 for an all-new episode of HOMESTEAD RESCUE at 9pm ET/PT. Marty, Misty, and Matt face a Raney first: a homestead completely abandoned by a couple now forced to work 80-hour weeks back in civilization to cover their homestead costs. Their only hope to fix the homestead for good lies solely in firing up a rusted old gas well and converting natural gas into light, heat, and power to shock this homestead back to life.

Join your favorite Discovery families as they share their beloved Christmas traditions when A VERY DISCOVERY CHRISTMAS premieres Thursday, December 7 at 9pm ET/PT.  From trimming the tree to making bush gifts, hunting holiday meals, and even making moonshine – it’s time to get in the holiday spirit.

Finally, on Friday, December 8, Discovery ventures to the Yukon for a mega-paced episode of GOLD RUSH at 9pm ET/PT. Todd Hoffman is out of luck, and out of ground, until he makes a desperate play for new land. Meanwhile, Parker’s sitting pretty on a pile of gold, but gets desperate for more and pushes Rick too far, and Tony attempts to jump start his season and his success or failure rests on a risky voyage up the Yukon River. Then, Discovery goes into Colombia, South America, for the season finale of FINDING ESCOBAR’S MILLIONS at 10pm ET/PT. Meeting with Pablo’s former lawyer, Doug and Ben discover that Escobar’s partner, Gacha, was the one who buried the millions, and they go to his properties to dig. After recovering nothing, they set their sights back on La Catedral for one final excavation.
