Amazon Game Studios Announces "The Grand Tour Game"

Amazon Game Studios Announces "The Grand Tour Game"
New episodes will be added weekly during Season 3 of the show, capturing cars, locations, and surprises from each week's episode.
[via press release from Amazon] Amazon Game Studios Announces "The Grand Tour Game"

Upcoming episodic game based on hit Prime Original series lets players race exotic cars, recreate wild challenges, and join in Clarkson, Hammond, and May's shenanigans

SEATTLE -- Aug. 21, 2018 -- Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are bringing high-jinks and hot laps to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in The Grand Tour Game, an episodic racing game based on the hit Prime Original series, The Grand Tour. Created by Amazon Game Studios, The Grand Tour Game transports players to exotic locations, where they'll drive the world's most interesting cars, and participate in the show's outrageous challenges. New episodes of The Grand Tour Game will be added weekly during Season 3 of the show, capturing cars, locations, and surprises from each week's episode. Visit www.playthegrandtourgame.com for more information.

The Grand Tour Game puts players behind the wheel of the cars from Season 3, and brings them to the iconic locations the hosts will visit this season, including The Grand Tour's signature Eboladrome test track. Featuring seamless transitions from clips of the show to gameplay, plus hours of original voice acting from Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, The Grand Tour Game is infused with the show's trademark humour and banter.

"It's a video game featuring me, the crashy one, and the slow one. That's all you need to know," said Jeremy Clarkson. "If you've always wanted to come on the road with us, this is as close as you'll ever get. Unless you kidnap James and steal his face."

"If you've ever wanted to do my job, now you can," said James May, "Obviously not literally, it's just a game, so please don't go through the drawers of my desk."

"I live in the deep countryside, so frankly I'm impressed by anything that runs on electricity," said Richard Hammond. "But I have to admit this game is particularly brilliant, especially the four-player splitscreen."

In The Grand Tour Game, players can not only follow in the guys' tire tracks, but race and challenge each other face-to-face. The Grand Tour Game features four-player splitscreen, so players can race against each other--and hurl their best insults--in-person. Cheeky power-ups like High Tea, which spills tire-shredding cups and saucers, and More Horsepowers, which lets you blow past the competition, help make the action unpredictable, and keep racers on their toes.

"The Grand Tour is about powerful cars and ridiculous stunts, but it's also about camaraderie," said Craig Sullivan, Creative Director at Amazon Game Studios. "We're committed to authentically capturing the spirit of the show: cars, banter with friends, and (mostly) friendly competition."
The Grand Tour Game was created by Amazon Game Studios, Seattle. The game was built using Amazon Game Tech, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon Lumberyard. Learn more about Amazon Game Tech at https://aws.amazon.com/gametech/

The Grand Tour is a Prime Original for Prime Video. The Executive Producer is Andy Wilman.

Amazon Prime Video Announces Amazon's First Rose Parade Float Featuring "The Grand Tour"

Amazon Prime Video Announces Amazon's First Rose Parade Float Featuring "The Grand Tour"
The float is the first from a streaming service, and Prime members can catch it and all the other parade action on the two-hour special "The 2018 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord & Tish," streaming live on Amazon Prime Video, January 1.
[via press release from Amazon] Amazon Prime Video Announces Amazon's First Rose Parade Float Featuring "The Grand Tour"
The float, which can be seen at the annual Rose Parade held on New Year's Day, January 1, 2018, will be the first from a streaming service and the first float to be pushed for the entire parade
SEATTLE - Dec. 19, 2017 - (NASDAQ: AMZN) - Amazon today announces its plans for a float based on the Prime Original Series with the most watched season premiere in the history of Prime Video - The Grand Tour - which launched its second season on December 8. Amazon's float will appear in the 129th Rose Parade, held on New Year's Day in Pasadena, CA. The float is the first from a streaming service, and Prime members can catch it and all the other parade action on the two-hour special The 2018 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord & Tish, streaming live on Amazon Prime Video, January 1, 2018 at 8:00am PT / 11:00am ET.

In keeping with The Grand Tour's spirit of adventure, this entry is unlike anything seen before in the Rose Parade. The design includes three human-powered floats, each featuring the face of one of the presenters-Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May-inside a giant wheel. The wheels will each have a collage of images from The Grand Tour, including an array of automotive components such as a hubcap, steering wheel and revolution gauge, as well as icons of global adventure such as a map, famous international landmarks and a series of ring roads.
Eight people per wheel will roll the three-part float for the duration of the 5.5 mile parade route. As the first float to be pushed for the entire parade and in keeping with this year's parade theme of "Making A Difference," The Grand Tour's entry is making a difference with one of the smallest carbon footprints in the parade.

This bold entry features an analogous color scheme with fiery yellow, orange and red hues juxtaposed against crisp black and white. The presenters' faces are painstakingly rendered with subtle blends of nigella, poppy seed and crushed sweet rice. The wheel rims showcase a vibrant ombre effect of roses, including Deja Vu, Kerio, Voodoo, Orange Crush and Star 2000. Silverleaf protea, black nori (seaweed) and coconut flakes are used extensively to decorate the various automotive components. Vivid mosaics of carnations and chrysanthemums provide a technicolor backdrop for the gigantic wheels. As the inner drive wheels roll forward, the outer cosmetic wheels will revolve counter-clockwise. The various other gears, wheels and gauges are animated as well.

The float is built by Paradiso Parade Floats and designed by Charles Meier. For more information on the float design, please visit https://www.tournamentofroses.com/media/resources.

Can he avoid injury and death, or just how many of his nine lives will he use up on his journey to their bedsides?

[via press release from Amazon] The Grand Tour's Clarkson, Hammond and May Announce Locations For Season Two
Season two of The Grand Tour will see Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May embarking on their most extensive Grand Tour ever, traveling through more locations than before and attempting to avoid any further mishaps and injury along the way. The trio will spend over 100 days across five continents, racking up more passport stamps from Croatia, Mozambique, Dubai, Spain, Switzerland, Colorado, New York and many more exotic locations around the world.

Given the show's presenter's sore joints, struggling lungs and combined age of 158, the studio tent has been given a new home in a charming location in the Cotswolds, UK. For one week only, Amazon is inviting customers around the world to apply to be on the studio guest list and join Clarkson, Hammond and May in their home country. Applications for tickets to the studio recordings of season two opens today at primevideo.com/GTTickets and closes at midnight BST on Tuesday, October 3.
"The Grand Tour is our most popular show around the world having been watched in over 240 countries and territories," said Jay Marine, VP of Amazon Video Europe. "Customers continually tell us that their favorite segments of The Grand Tour are the traveling adventures of Jeremy, Richard and James, so despite the various calamities and injuries along the way, the guys have spent this year exploring more incredible and stunning locations than ever before...and getting into more trouble of course. We can't wait for our Prime members to see season two later this year."

Andy Wilman, Executive Producer of The Grand Tour added: "It's clear that the most popular 'Grand Tour' element of the show is when the chaps are roaming the globe on their big adventures and road trips, so that's what we're doing a lot more of for this season. We'll keep the studio in one place, and given how accident prone they are at the minute, that can only be a good thing!"

Season one of The Grand Tour with Clarkson, Hammond and May broke records when it launched in November 2016, becoming the biggest show premiere ever on Amazon Prime Video. Prime members can re watch all of season one anytime on www.amazon.com/grandtour and follow The Grand Tour on Facebook and Twitter to be the first notified of upcoming news. Amazon Prime Video Statement Regarding "The Grand Tour's" Richard Hammond Crash
Please see a statement regarding a crash in which Richard Hammond, of Amazon Prime Video's The Grand Tour, was involved.

"Richard Hammond was involved in a serious crash after completing the Hemburg Hill Climb in Switzerland in a Rimac Concept One, an electric super car built in Croatia, during filming for The Grand Tour season two on Amazon Prime Video, but very fortunately suffered no serious injury. Richard was conscious and talking, and climbed out of the car himself before the vehicle burst into flames. He was flown by Air Ambulance to hospital in St Gallen to be checked over revealing a fracture to his knee. Nobody else was in the car or involved in the accident, and we'd like to thank the paramedics on site for their swift response. The cause of the crash is unknown and is being investigated."
