Before Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, There Was Super Sentai! See where the worldwide phenomenon began with the original Japanese series that inspired the Power Rangers franchise! Factory would release Super Sentai Gingaman: The Complete Series on DVD in North America...the Japanese episodes which became the USA's Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. Since then we've been waiting for the studio to finalize their plans for this 8-disc set, and now they have. Price will be $59.97 SRP, and like the other Super Sentai DVDs that Shout! has released before, it will be in the native Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles. Here's a look at the packaging:

This past July we passed along word from the San Diego Comic Con that Super Sentai Gingaman: The Complete Series, the Japanese show whose footage was the basis for Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, is coming to DVD from Shout! Factory. At the beginning of this past weekend, Amazon.com added a listing for Super Sentai Gingaman: The Complete Series. There's no package art yet, and they aren't actively taking pre-orders at the time of this writing. But if you scroll down to the "Product details" section of the entry, it shows that this 8-DVD set will be available starting January 30, 2018. In 1999, Saban Entertainment brought Power Rangers Lost Galaxy to American TV sets. Like all other Power Rangers shows, the series was adapted from a Japanese Super Sentai program. In this case, Lost Galaxy used footage from Seiju Sentai Gingaman, which had debuted in Japan in early 1998. This past weekend, at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con, Shout! Factory announced at their panel that they have plans to release in early 2018 a North American DVD set for Super Sentai Gingaman: The Complete Series. The 50 episodes will include English subtitles over the original Japanese audio track. That's all the available info so far; there's not specific release date, not pricing, and no package art finalized as of this writing.
