| Wayne Brady Joins With BYUtv To Create And Host Comedy Competition Series "Wayne Brady's Comedy IQ" premieres April 2020 with talented teens PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 19, 2020 -- Today at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, family entertainment network BYUtv announced its new comedy competition series "Wayne Brady's Comedy IQ," created and hosted by multiple Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated Wayne Brady and his producing partner, Mandie Taketa. The show, which counts Queen Latifah among its executive producers, will premiere on April 6, 2020. Talented young people from across the country compete in a one-of-a-kind performers' bootcamp to demonstrate the highest "comedy IQ." Each new challenge teaches them to be multi-faceted in writing, directing, performing and creating comedic and musical content. Along the way, the teens learn universal skills that can bring them success in the real world. "I'm so grateful to BYUtv for giving me the chance to pass on my 30 years plus of comedy and performing knowledge," said Wayne Brady. "It means so much to me to help the next generation of funny along. I get to give the comedy guidance I never had at that age!" The 10-episode unscripted series has completed production in Los Angeles and was executive produced by Wayne Brady, Mandie Taketa, Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, Mechelle Collins and Kevin Dill of Intuitive Entertainment (Bravo's "The Millionaire Matchmaker," Lifetime's "The Rap Game") and BYUtv. "The brilliant Wayne Brady and his producing partner, Mandie Taketa, came to us with a passion and plan for finding and nurturing young artists that we were delighted to make a reality," said Michael Dunn, managing director of BYUtv. "What's special about 'Wayne Brady's Comedy IQ' is that it guides the contestants in navigating achievement, rejection and resiliency both in the entertainment industry and in everyday life. It's a positive show about the human side of humor and reaching our own potential." Wright, "Christmas Jars" tells the story of aspiring reporter Hope Jensen (Jeni Ross), who uncovers the remarkable secret behind a holiday phenomenon: glass jars filled with coins and bills anonymously left for people in need. After experiencing a personal tragedy, Hope is unexpectedly gifted a jar. Realizing the story could be her big break, she goes undercover to learn more about the origin of the jars but ultimately finds much more in the lives of the people she meets. Will she lose the love and acceptance they've shown her when the truth of her intentions is revealed? The beloved novel, which has sold over a million copies, created a new holiday tradition that has changed the lives of people all over the country. NEW SHOWS
"The Parent Trip," from Peacock Alley Entertainment and BYUtv, is the North American adaptation of the International Emmy Award(R)-winning UK travel format series "50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy" that sees thrill-seeking celebrities take their parent or child on bucket list adventures. From zip lining across the Niagara Gorge to shark fishing in the Atlantic, viewers get a candid look at their favourite celebrities (including Jennie Garth, Jaleel White, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Annie Murphy, Monica Potter, James Maslow) as they travel to unique destinations for experiences they have always wanted to share with their family member.
"The Fixers," from BCII and BYUtv, is a one-hour high-stakes reality series in which an "A-team" of experienced builders travels around the world to remote locations in significant need. By leveraging their own amazing abilities and the combined strength of the local community, they work tirelessly to complete a life-changing project and bring about radical change. From bringing electricity to an impoverished orphanage to providing a reliable source of fresh water to a community, these four "fixers" make astonishing transformations and lasting change to the places they visit: Kirin Stone, Courtney Dober (ABC's "The Bachelor Winter Games"), Nick Apostolides and Ariel Myren.
"Making Good," from Cosmic Pictures and BYUtv, is a 30-minute unscripted series chronicling one man's quest to serve. Host Kirby Heyborne ("The Three Stooges") loves helping people and eagerly volunteers for organizations regardless of the circumstances, his background or his experience. He channels enthusiasm to learn about new ways to make a difference, getting his hands dirty working side-by-side with founders of charities and non-profits who are touching lives across the United States. Along the way, he shares laughs, tears and songs with his newfound friends and learns exactly what it takes to make good.
2nd SEASON SHOWS
"Dwight in Shining Armor" is BYUtv's scripted comedy adventure series that takes place in a suburban town where Dwight, a 21st century teen, falls into an ancient, underground chamber and lands lip-to-lip with Gretta, a gothic princess who has been magically sleeping for a thousand years. Dwight's "kiss" awakens Gretta, her court magician, Baldric, as well as scores of medieval villains, and makes Dwight her de facto champion until her hordes of enemies are defeated. Sloane Morgan Siegel (Amazon Studio's "Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street"), Caitlin Carmichael ("The Good Doctor") and Joel McCrary ("The Princess Diaries") star in this hit series created by LeeAnne H. Adams and Brian J. Adams (Amazon Studio's "12 Princesses").
"Dinner Takes All" is a family cooking competition hosted by celebrity chef Kelsey Nixon (Food Network, Cooking Channel) and judged by "Queen of Country Southern Cuisine" Kardea Brown and "Yum Yum Foodie" Eddie Zamora. Two teams of five family members go head-to-head to cook their "best Sunday dinner," with winning families receiving a $10,000 cash prize. Each team uses family recipes to create an entrée, three side dishes and a dessert while simultaneously playing interactive food-centric games for bonus points. "Dinner Takes All" is from Keller/Noll ("Chopped," "Chopped Junior") and BYUtv.
The hilarious, interactive musical improv series "Show Offs" gives its cast, along with a special celebrity guest, the chance to "show off" by performing a spontaneous improvised play or musical, prompted by random ideas from the studio audience and accompanied by a live band. Hosted by comedian Casey Jost ("Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"), its cast features executive producers and co-creators Maclain Nelson ("The Saratov Approach") and Jake Van Wagoner ("Impractical Jokers"), as well as Lisa Valentine Clark ("Random Acts") and Hailey Smith ("Once I Was a Beehive"). "Show Offs" is from Kaleidoscope Pictures ("Winter Thaw," "Instrument of War"), Good Guys Productions ("The Saratov Approach," "Once I Was a Beehive") and BYUtv.
The comedic game show "Battle of the Ages" pits two multi-generational family teams against each other in mental and physical challenges. With the opportunity to pick a competitor from the opposing team and test their knowledge on a specific era, this game show will get families talking and laughing while they learn more about each other. "Battle of the Ages" is from Bill's Market & Television Productions ("Ellen's Game of Games," "Fear Factor") and BYUtv.
In addition to the shows above, BYUtv's returning original programming slate includes the long-running sketch comedy series "Studio C," which touts nearly 2 billion views on YouTube; "Relative Race," the first family-history based competitive reality show that follows four teams as they meet relatives linked by DNA for the first time in a race throughout the United States; "Random Acts," an unscripted hidden-camera reality show that highlights the altruistic nature of human beings by featuring real people who are the recipients of random acts of kindness; "Hetty Feather," a popular British children's drama series that follows the adventures and trials of an orphan living in a Victorian foundling hospital; and "Tricked," an unexpected unscripted series that is part hilarious hidden camera, part sensational magic show. BYUtv is available across the country via cable, satellite and multiple digital media platforms.

NEW SHOWS
"The Parent Trip," from Peacock Alley Entertainment and BYUtv, is the North American adaptation of the International Emmy Award(R)-winning UK travel format series "50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy" that sees thrill-seeking celebrities take their parent or child on bucket list adventures.

"Its world of enchanted characters is rich with storytelling possibilities, and seasons three and four will delve even deeper into the magical mythology and family-friendly hijinks that are unique to the show."
The 10-episode first season of "Dwight in Shining Armor" premiered on BYUtv in March 2019 and has completed its run. Sloane Morgan Siegel (Amazon Studio's "Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street"), Caitlin Carmichael ("The Good Doctor") and Joel McCrary ("The Princess Diaries") star in this new series created by LeeAnne H. Adams and Brian J. Adams (Amazon Studio's "12 Princesses"). Currently co-starring are Danielle Bisutti ("God of War") and Evan Hofer ("Lethal Weapon").

The two unscripted competition series will air fall 2019
PROVO, Utah, April 16, 2019 -- Family entertainment television network BYUtv today announced it has ordered second seasons of the family cooking competition show "Dinner Takes All" and the multi-generational family game show "Battle of the Ages" to air this fall. Both series premiered in March 2019 and are currently airing their first seasons.
"In partnership with the seasoned creators of such favorites as 'Chopped' and 'Fear Factor,' BYUtv will bring back two reality series that are truly unique in the television landscape," said Michael Dunn, managing director of BYUtv. "'Dinner Takes All' is both a cooking show and a family game show, and the goal of 'Battle of the Ages' is to bring every generation of a family together. Both series have been audience favorites since their premieres, and we're pleased to produce more episodes for our viewers in the fall."
"Dinner Takes All" is a family cooking competition show hosted by celebrity chef Kelsey Nixon (Food Network, Cooking Channel) and judged by "The Queen of Country Southern Cuisine," Kardea Brown, and "The Yum Yum Foodie," Eddie Zamora, all of whom are returning for season 2. In each episode, two teams of five family members go head-to-head to cook their "best Sunday dinner." Each team uses family recipes to create an entrée, three side dishes and a dessert while simultaneously playing interactive food-centric games for bonus points. Winning families receive a $10,000 cash prize. "Dinner Takes All" is from Keller/Noll ("Chopped," "Chopped Junior") and BYUtv.
BYUtv's original programming slate also includes "Dwight in Shining Armor," an adventure comedy in which the Middle Ages meets Middle America; the long-running sketch comedy series "Studio C," which touts nearly two billion views on YouTube; "Relative Race," the first family-history based competitive reality show that follows four teams as they meet relatives linked by DNA for the first time in a race throughout the United States; and "Random Acts," an unscripted hidden-camera reality show that highlights the altruistic nature of human beings by featuring real people who are the recipients of random acts of kindness. March 10th premiere introduces inspiring stories of 4 diverse teams
PROVO, Utah, Feb. 28, 2019 -- Season five of the award-winning unscripted competition series "Relative Race" will air on BYUtv beginning Sunday, March 10 at 9 p.m. ET/7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT. The genealogy-based show follows four teams on a surprising, emotional 10-day journey throughout the United States as they complete challenges, discover unknown relatives identified through DNA testing and compete for a $50,000 grand prize.
"After four seasons of 'Relative Race' you'd think we'd have seen it all, but the unexpected events in just the premiere episode of this season prove otherwise," said Michael Dunn, managing director of BYUtv. "Three of the four teams are sibling pairs, including adopted and half siblings searching for two family lines, and all four teams are hoping to find at least one biological parent. We are proud to continue to present a show that helps deserving people explore their roots while offering a touching, exciting viewing experience for families to share together."
The new diverse lineup for this season includes Team Red, adoptive sisters Liz and Maria Clifton from New York City, who were both adopted into the same family as infants and are searching for each of their biological families; Team Blue, husband and wife Demetrius and Chonta Flowers from Atlanta, who are looking for answers about Demetrius' biological father; Team Green, half-brothers Marcus Taylor and Keith Breedlove from Los Angeles who are hoping to meet relatives on their respective fathers' sides as well as shared family on their mother's side; and Team Black, identical twin sisters Kaley and Kristin Dignen from Orlando, Fla., who are looking for their dad and his family.
Armed with only paper maps, a loaner car and a flip phone with a camera, each day the teams receive instructions via text message to navigate to a designated city and complete a challenge that leads them to their previously unknown relatives. The last team to finish each day receives a strike, and after three strikes, a team is eliminated. Season five of "Relative Race" begins in St. Louis, the "Gateway to the West," from which the teams disperse in all directions throughout the United States to meet their relatives.
Co-winner of the 2016 Cynopsis Media Best New Competition Reality Series award, the fifth season of "Relative Race" will air 10 episodes. For the fifth consecutive year, BYUtv teamed up with Utah-based veteran reality TV and documentary production company Lenzworks to create the race and challenges. The show is hosted by Dan J. Debenham, Lenzworks' principal, executive producer and former ESPN executive producer, who has been working in the television and production industry for 30 years.
In addition to "Relative Race," BYUtv's original programming slate includes the new scripted adventure comedy "Dwight in Shining Armor," in which the Middle Ages meets Middle America; the long-running sketch comedy series "Studio C," which touts over 1 billion views on YouTube; "Random Acts," an unscripted hidden-camera reality show that highlights the altruistic nature of human beings by featuring real people who are the recipients of random acts of kindness; and the new cooking competition series "Dinner Takes All" that's all about food, family and fun. "Filmed in our BYUtv studios and around Utah in association with our phenomenal production partners, they are all great examples of the engaging, family content BYUtv offers. These new shows add even more variety to an already compelling line-up of existing programming, rounding out a true 'super week' of television."
"Dinner Takes All" is a family cooking competition show hosted by celebrity chef Kelsey Nixon (Food Network, Cooking Channel) in which two teams of five family members go head-to-head to cook their "best Sunday dinner." Each team uses family recipes to create an entrée, three side dishes and a dessert while simultaneously playing interactive food-centric games for bonus points. Winning families receive a $10,000 cash prize. "Dinner Takes All" is from Keller/Noll ("Chopped," "Chopped Junior") and BYUtv.
These new shows join BYUtv's original programming slate, including the new scripted adventure comedy "Dwight in Shining Armor," in which the Middle Ages meets Middle America; the long-running sketch comedy series "Studio C," which touts over 1 billion views on YouTube; "Relative Race," the first family-history based competitive reality show that follows four teams as they meet relatives linked by DNA for the first time in a race throughout the United States; and "Random Acts," an unscripted hidden-camera reality show that highlights the altruistic nature of human beings by featuring real people who are the recipients of random acts of kindness. "With the debut of these new series, we are creating a broad portfolio of new and original programming, both scripted and unscripted, that the entire family can watch together," said Michael Dunn, managing director of BYUtv.
BYUtv is available across the country via cable, satellite and multiple digital media platforms.
