The five-time Emmy Award-nominated primetime special CARPOOL KARAOKE: WHEN CORDEN MET MCCARTNEY LIVE FROM LIVERPOOL will be rebroadcast Monday, August 19 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The primetime special features footage from the popular “Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke” segment which aired on THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN on June 21, 2018. During the “Carpool Karaoke” segment, Corden and McCartney drove around Liverpool, visited McCartney’s childhood home and several of the places referenced in the song “Penny Lane,” and surprised locals with an intimate performance at a pub. The special originally aired August 20, 2018.

The special is currently nominated for five Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special.

Corden is the most nominated performer/producer/writer for “The 71^st Emmy Awards” with seven nominations, while executive producer Ben Winston leads all individual nominations with eight. THE LATE LATE SHOW executive producer Rob Crabbe also received five nominations.

Special Will Feature an All-New Carpool Karaoke with Celine Dion

CBS will present a new THE LATE LATE SHOW CARPOOL KARAOKE PRIMETIME SPECIAL 2019, featuring an all-new “Carpool Karaoke” with Celine Dion, on Monday, May 20 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The special will also feature James Corden’s favorite moments from this past year on THE LATE LATE SHOW.

This marks the fifth primetime special for THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN. The 2016 and 2017 editions of THE LATE LATE SHOW CARPOOL KARAOKE PRIMETIME SPECIAL both earned Emmy Awards for Outstanding Variety Special. The 2018 edition earned an additional Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Special. Following the popularity of the “Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke,” which originally aired during THE LATE LATE SHOW in June 2018, CBS broadcast a one hour primetime special, “Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live from Liverpool,” in August 2018.

Primetime Special to Feature Never-Before-Seen Footage from Epic "Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke" Segment on "The Late Late Show with James Corden"

CBS will present CARPOOL KARAOKE: WHEN CORDEN MET MCCARTNEY LIVE FROM LIVERPOOL on Monday, August 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). The primetime special will feature never-before-seen footage from the wildly popular "Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke" segment which aired on THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN on June 21, during the week of shows from Central Hall Westminster in London. During the "Carpool Karaoke" segment, Corden and McCartney drove around Liverpool, visited McCartney's childhood home and several of the places referenced in the song "Penny Lane," and surprised locals with an intimate performance at a pub.

"We were overwhelmed by the response to our 'Carpool Karaoke' with Paul McCartney. We loved making it and knew we had something special, but it was so wonderful for us to see how many people watched and enjoyed it," said Ben Winston, executive producer of THE LATE LATE SHOW. "I think it resonated with people as Paul's music speaks to every generation, young and old, especially today. The message in the music is as relevant now as it has ever been. After the shoot, while we sat in the edit, we had to cut so much we loved for time. Not only did Paul do a concert in that Liverpool pub, but James and he discussed so much in the car. We are so delighted CBS has given us this primetime special to make an hour-long version of this 'Carpool Karaoke.' Now everyone can see the joy of that concert and more of their chat."

The "Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke" has nearly 130 million digital views across Facebook and YouTube. It is the most-watched late night video on Facebook Watch.

Paul McCartney's new album, Egypt Station, will be released Sept. 7. His new song "Come on to Me" from this album was featured in the original "Carpool Karaoke" segment on THE LATE LATE SHOW.
