Multi Award-Winner Olivia Colman to Star in New Sky and HBO Original Drama "Landscapers"

Multi Award-Winner Olivia Colman to Star in New Sky and HBO Original Drama "Landscapers"
The four-part limited series will be directed by Academy Award winner Alexander Payne and is written by Ed Sinclair in his first television screenplay.

Multi award-winner Olivia Colman to star in new Sky and HBO original drama Landscapers
Academy Award and BAFTA winning actress Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) is to star in the new Sky original drama, Landscapers, the latest project from Sister for Sky and HBO after their multi-Emmy award-winning hit Chernobyl.

The four-part limited series will be directed by Academy Award winner Alexander Payne (The Descendants, About Schmidt, Sideways) and is written by Ed Sinclair in his first television screenplay.

Inspired by real events, the drama explores the lives of convicted killers Susan (Colman) and Christopher Edwards (casting tbc) and asks how this devoted and mild-mannered couple came to kill Susan's parents and bury them in the back garden of their Mansfield home, in a crime that remained undiscovered for over a decade. This blackly comic, narratively playful true crime drama is based on extensive research, hours of interviews and direct access to the accused, who have always protested their innocence of murder.

Pivoting through various perspectives from Susan and Chris, to the police officers and lawyers involved in the investigation, the drama also draws the audience into the surreal fantasy world that Susan and Christopher created by casting themselves as their Hollywood heroes in stories of their own invention. This is the story of a unique murder case involving four lives lived on the margins of society, that turns into an exhilarating and darkly funny exploration of love and fantasy: its power and its peril.

Landscapers is produced by Sister, the award-winning producers of Chernobyl, in association with South of the River Pictures, the new production company from Olivia Colman and Ed Sinclair, for Sky and HBO.

The series will start filming in 2020 and will air on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK and on Sky in Germany, Italy, Spain and Ireland. International sales for Landscapers will be handled by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.

Olivia Colman, Actress and Executive Producer for South of the River Pictures said: "I love Ed's scripts, which is just as well as he cooks many of my meals. No, the truth is it's quite rare to be desperate to play a part on the first reading of a script, but that was the case here. The writing is brave, but subtle and tender too - a joy for any actor."

Cameron Roach, Director of Drama, Sky Studios comments: "Ed's scripts are a riveting and sensitive exploration of what could drive such an ordinary couple to commit murder and I'm delighted that Olivia Colman will bring Susan to life in what promises to be a compelling series. And after the success of the multi award-winning Chernobyl, we're pleased to be working with Sister on another original drama inspired by true events."

Jane Featherstone, Co-Founder, Sister adds: "The intelligence and deeply imaginative breadth of first time screenwriter Ed Sinclair's scripts sees a constant re-invention of the true crime genre and it's a testament to his writing that we have assembled a hugely experienced team of world class creatives. Oscar winning Olivia Colman is an extraordinary actor whose ability to disappear into a role is second to none and I'm thrilled to be re-united with her on this project. And with the incredible Alexander Payne at the helm, we are lucky to have a director whose skill for dark humour and character will ensure that Landscapers constantly surprises audiences."

Landscapers is the first original co-production from Sky and HBO since renewing their output deal last month, which extends the companies' long-standing co-production partnership. It is also both broadcasters' first new commission with Sister following their collaboration on the international hit Chernobyl which aired earlier this year, becoming Sky's most successful original drama ever with over 4 million viewers and 10 Emmy Award wins.

The series was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK and Ireland, and Cameron Roach, Director of Drama, Sky Studios. Serena Thompson is the Executive Producer for Sky. Landscapers is produced by Sister in association with South of the River Pictures for Sky in association with HBO. The Executive Producers are Jane Featherstone (Chernobyl, The Split) and Chris Fry (Giri/Haji, Chernobyl) for Sister and Ed Sinclair and Olivia Colman for South of the River Pictures. Directed and Executive Produced by Alexander Payne, Landscapers is produced by Katie Carpenter (The Bisexual, Flowers).

Rupert Graves Joins Julia Stiles, Poppy Delevingne & Jack Fox for Series 3 of Sky Original "Riviera"

Rupert Graves Joins Julia Stiles, Poppy Delevingne & Jack Fox for Series 3 of Sky Original "Riviera"
A year has passed since the explosive finale of the last series.
[via press release from Sky] Rupert Graves joins Julia Stiles, Poppy Delevingne & Jack Fox for Series 3 of Sky original Riviera
Filming is under way on series 3 of Sky original Riviera, with a new cast line up including the much-loved Rupert Graves (Sherlock) playing Gabriel Hirsch.

Rupert will join returning cast members Julia Stiles, Poppy Delevingne and Jack Fox and a host of other stellar names including: Clare-Hope Ashitey (Doctor Foster) as Ellen Swann; Synnove Macody Lund (Headhunters) as Alex Harewood; Franco Masini as Cesar Alsina-Suarez; Elisio Barrionuevo as Dario Alsina-Suarez and Maurizio Lombardi as Luca Aliperti.

A year has passed since the explosive finale of the last series. Georgina (Stiles) has abandoned the cursed Riviera, leaving all its devastation and damage behind to start a new life. Now a rising star in international art restitution, she has reinvented herself as Georgina Ryland as she travels the world - from Venice to Argentina - on the hunt for stolen art works.

After the moral obscurity of the Riviera, Georgina revels in the relative black and white clarity that her new role gives her, as well as her new alliance with the carefree, charismatic and worldly Gabriel Hirsch.

But in a world in which power, legacy and justice are deadly obsessions, Riviera 3 will see Georgina's loyalty, courage and resilience tested to the extreme, revealing the most surprising Georgina yet.
Cameron Roach, Sky's Director of Drama & Sky Studios said: "Riviera has really captured the imagination of our subscribers and we're thrilled to be returning to the audacious and unpredictable world occupied by Julia Stiles as Georgina, alongside her new co-star Rupert Graves.

"Riviera owns a unique space in the television landscape and we're very proud of it as a show that offers the promise of danger and suspense whilst really entertaining and thrilling the viewer."
Kris Thykier, Executive Producer for Archery Pictures comments: "We are committed to producing the most glamorous, most thrilling show on television and our third season looks set to be the most explosive to date. Shooting in exclusive locations in Venice, St Tropez and Buenos Aires, this series will dive into an entirely new world of corruption, deceit and murder amongst the globe-trotting 1%".
Paul McGuinness, Executive Producer for Primo Productions adds: "The Cte d'Azur was the original inspiration for the series and it feels good to be shooting in St Tropez, the spiritual home of Riviera. Effortlessly sexy, hedonistic and a little bit dangerous. We're excited to be back."

Julia Stiles adds: "The expansion of this season, in terms of the gorgeous new countries we visit, as well as our new cast members, means the web is even more tangled for Georgina. I am thrilled to navigate this gilded conspiracy through her eyes and with Rupert Graves by her side."

Riviera is a Sky original drama in association with Altice Studios. Produced by Archery Pictures and Primo Productions, the Executive Producers are Kris Thykier, Paul McGuinness and Kara Manley for Sky Studios.

Sky has recently committed to more than double its investment in original drama, comedy and documentary through Sky Studios, the commissioning and production arm of Sky. Latest Sky originals include: Temple starring Mark Strong, Catherine The Great starring Helen Mirren; a second series of Jez Butterworth's Britannia and a second series of Save Me starring Lennie James and Suranne Jones. 2019 has been a record year for Sky Originals with Chernobyl receiving 10 Emmy awards and becoming the most watched original ever with over 4 million viewers of the season finale. And away from the screen, Sky secured a record BAFTA haul with seven awards.

Ian Hart, Tanya Moodie, Joanne Whalley and Kerrie Hayes Join Tim Roth, Genevieve O'Reilly and Abigail Lawrie as Filming Commences on the Third and Final Chapter of Sky Original "Tin Star"
Roth, O'Reilly and Lawrie reprise their roles as the worth family one last time for a series more explosive than ever before.
[via press release from Sky] Ian Hart, Tanya Moodie, Joanne Whalley and Kerrie Hayes join Tim Roth, Genevieve O'Reilly and Abigail Lawrie as filming commences on the third and final chapter of Sky original Tin Star
Filming has commenced in the city of Liverpool this week on the third and final chapter of Sky original epic thriller, Tin Star. Tim Roth, Genevieve O'Reilly and Abigail Lawrie reprise their roles as the worth family one last time for a series more explosive than ever before.

Sky Atlantic's critically acclaimed drama will also star Ian Hart (Boardwalk Empire, Harry Potter), Tanya Moodie (A Discovery of Witches, Sherlock), Joanne Whalley (The Edge of Darkness, The White Princess) and Kerrie Hayes (Little Boy Blue, The Mill) in this 6x60' series created by Rowan Joffe and co-produced by Gaumont Television UK and Kudos.

At the end of series two, which is currently available to watch on demand on Sky and streaming service NOW TV, Jack (Roth) and Angela (O'Reilly) are forced to reveal a devastating truth to their daughter, Anna (Lawrie); and now the family's dark history is catching up with them in their native Liverpool as their ultimate nemesis arrives on their doorstep.

Thousands of miles away from the Rocky vista of Canadian town, Little Big Bear, Jack, Angela and Anna return to the UK twenty years after leaving to confront the sinister truth they ran from. The secrets they hold threaten a group of dangerous criminals who are still operating in the city.
Leading this gang is Merseyside's most successful crime boss Michael Ryan (Hart). Michael is a fearless, resourceful and clever businessman generating major redevelopment in the city. Firmly rooted in the underworld, he can also smell the law through concrete walls and across county lines which is why he remains un-convicted of any major drugs related crime. And it's not just a business feud, it's deeply personal and on top of having the inside track on local corruption and drugs trafficking, Angela and Jack hold a deeper secret, which if exposed, will blow the city apart.
Tanya Moodie stars as Catherine McKenzie who was Jack's handler twenty years ago when he was undercover for the Met assigned to infiltrate organized crime in Liverpool and in particular, Michael Ryan. Catherine is now the Chief Constable of Greater Merseyside Police. She is ruthless, highly intelligent and extremely powerful and it isn't long before she and Jack are reunited.
Kerrie Hayes will play D.I Sarah Lunt who is a local girl done good. A highly trained officer who looks up to Catherine and is an asset to any police force. Sarah is ambitious, keen to impress and a straight down the line cop but when she suspects her boss is willing to cross the line to get what she wants, Kerrie finds herself in over her head where she is forced to think quickly and act fast.
Joanne Whalley plays Mary, part police informant, part community activist. Mary is a charismatic woman who is a trusted friend of Jack's. Twenty years ago, Jack entrapped Mary by playing her at her own game and obliging her to turn informer for an undercover operation he was running, developing into an invaluable friendship. Jack arrives back in her life and the dynamic between them is as though no time has passed at all, giving a glimpse into how Jack used to be. They pick up right where they left off only this time, they are on the same side of the law.

Jack, Angela and Anna will stop at nothing to defeat their common enemy. The latest series of Tin Star will be a genre bending cocktail of action, suspense, thrills, spills and pitch-black comedy gelled together with the love and affection of a family growing together and trying to get by...
Cameron Roach, Director of Drama at Sky, said: "We're thrilled to be filming this final chapter of Tin Star in Liverpool. The impassioned performances from Tim Roth, Genevieve O'Reilly and Abigail Lawrie combined with the exciting casting of Merseyside's own Ian Hart alongside Tanya Moodie, Joanne Whalley and Kerrie Hayes will bring to life the most intriguing and suspenseful series yet."
Liverpool Film Office Head, Lynn Saunders, said: "We're delighted the Sky Atlantic hit is here to film. Liverpool will provide an incredible backdrop and will be a key to the storyline. The versatility of the city region means that when many big-name productions head here, it can double as another location - so it's great that viewers will be able to enjoy Liverpool City Region in all its glory."
Tin Star is co-produced by Gaumont Television UK and Kudos (part of The Endemol Shine Group) for Sky. Executive producers are Alison Jackson for Gaumont Television UK, Paul Gilbert for Sky and Rowan Joffe. Angus Lamont is the series producer. Tin Star series three was commissioned for Sky by head of drama Cameron Roach and director of programmes for Sky entertainment UK & Ireland Zai Bennett and is internationally distributed by Endemol Shine International and Sky Vision.
