On Your Mark, Get Set…Bake!
Five Seasons of
“The Great British Baking Show”
Are Coming to PBS Living
Arlington, VA June 27, 2019 – PBS Distribution will release five seasons of the delectable amateur baking competition, The Great British Baking Show, on PBS Living, beginning June 28. The competition has grown into a beloved international phenomenon, enchanting and inspiring those who watch. The first seasons, which broadcast on PBS, have become classics and feature the original comedic hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, as well as baking experts Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.

Andrea Downing, Co-President of PBS Distribution comments, “We are delighted to be able to provide all five of the original seasons of The Great British Baking Show to our PBS Living audience. It is another great addition to our continuously growing library of popular and iconic lifestyle content on the channel.”

Now fans of the show can watch these five fan-favorite seasons on PBS Living on Amazon as well as on Apple TV Channels in the Apple TV app. Each season of The Great British Baking Show follows a dozen charming and spirited amateur bakers as they don aprons and head for the iconic baking tent in the British countryside, hoping to be named Britain's best. Throughout the competition the bakers take on culinary assessments that increase in difficulty as competitors are eliminated. Each episode brings challenges in three categories: a Signature Bake, to test the contestants' creative flair and baking ability; a Technical Bake, in which challengers receive basic recipes with ingredient lists and minimal instruction; and the Showstopper Bake, designed to display depth of skill and talent.

Throughout the competition, as stress levels in the tent rise, comedy duo Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc provide the bakers with much-needed emotional support and comic relief, as they face the demanding and endearing judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, who taste and critique each of the contestant’s creations.
The five seasons will be available to stream on PBS Living beginning June 28. Each season has 10 episodes. The subscription rate for PBS Living is $2.99/month with an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription, or through Apple TV Channels. PBS Living is a one-stop shop where fans of The Great British Baking Show can also stream other beloved PBS cooking favorites including America’s Test Kitchen, The French Chef with Julia Child, A Chefs Life, and Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street, among other celebrated PBS programs.

The Great British Baking Show will also be streaming in PBS Passport, a digital member benefit available through local stations.
