Science Channel will debut two new series in April, “MYSTERIES OF THE ABANDONED” and “OUTLAW TECH,” in addition to airing the final four episodes of its Emmy-nominated series, “THROUGH THE WORMHOLE WITH MORGAN FREEMAN.”

MYSTERIES OF THE ABANDONED – Series Premiere Thursday, April 20 at 10PM ET/PT

“Mysteries of the Abandoned” uncovers why some of the world’s most advanced architectural achievements were eventually left behind. The premiere episode explores California’s Goat Canyon Trestle railway, known as the ‘Impossible Railroad,’ that required the biggest wooden trestle bridge in the world; Ukraine’s Duga, the notorious anti-ballistic missile radar, known as the ‘Russian Woodpecker,’ that still stands within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone; and the Grades Goulets Road in the French Alps, an astonishingly narrow and perilous mountain passageway.

Each of the six, hour-long episodes of “Mysteries of the Abandoned” features stories behind engineering wonders, why they were built and the reasons they were eventually left to crumble. Each story recalls the people who originally designed the structure, their historical significance, and why they were ultimately no longer of use.

THROUGH THE WORMHOLE WITH MORGAN FREEMAN – Returns Tuesday, April 25 at 10PM ET/PT

Morgan Freeman returns to host the final four episodes of the Emmy®-nominated series, “Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman,” beginning Tuesday, April 25 at 10PM ET/PT on Science Channel. Freeman will challenge audiences, once again, to think about daring questions while taking a deeper look at the science behind topics such as hidden forces in the universe, aging, the future of Earth, and gun violence. The first all-new episode asks IS THE FORCE WITH US? As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, this episode explores new research that is beginning to reveal a hidden force in the universe - one that penetrates space with trillions of invisible connections, instantly linking every place in our world and joining our future with our past.

Since its premiere in 2010, “Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman,” has been one of the most popular series on Science Channel. It has tackled a wide-range of tough and important questions such as the existence of God, the science of racism, life on other planets, the future of robots and many others. Leading scientists featured in the series’ run have included Nobel Prize winners Peter Higgs, Saul Perlmutter and Gerard't Hooft, along with Katherine Freese, Lee Smolin, Max Tegmark, Paul Davies, Michio Kaku and Bob Lanza.

OUTLAW TECH - Series Premiere Wednesday, April 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

With complex security systems designed to stop the world’s most nefarious criminal masterminds, “Outlaw Tech” goes inside amazing capers to unpack the high-tech arsenal used on both sides of the law. The

Each of the six, hour-long episodes, features cat and mouse escapades with science at the center, as it is used to hack our banks, museums, casinos, prisons and more. From the physics of defeating heat sensors, to the complex code that cracked thousands of ATMs, to the epic engineering that allowed El Chapo to escape his maximum security prison, “Outlaw Tech” takes us step by step through a battle royale of brilliant outlaw science versus cutting-edge security systems and tried and true investigation techniques.

Among other crimes investigated this season are a $100 million diamond heist that defied surveillance and high tech locks, a narco sub used to transport 16,000 pounds of cocaine without being noticed by sonar, and a cyber scheme deployed by gangsters to defraud the Medicare system of $100 million.
