“Episode 209 (Rob Riggle, Ed Helms, Regina Hall)” – The iconic and irreverent talent show competition, “The Gong Show,” makes its way into the 21st century with a bang, celebrating unusually talented and unique performers on a prime-time stage. Celebrity judges Rob Riggle, Ed Helms and Regina Hall are set to praise, critique and gong performers, on “The Gong Show,” THURSDAY, AUG. 16 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.
Mike Myers stars as your host, British comedic legend Tommy Maitland. Music is provided by the house band Wilder Zoby and the Gong Show Orchestra.
Tonight’s acts include water-bottle ballet, shadow puppetry, a dancer with four legs and a man who spits and does tricks with ping pong balls.
At the end of the show, the winning act with the highest judges’ scores will receive a fabulous “The Gong Show” trophy and a check for $2,000 and 18 cents.
“The Gong Show” is produced by Den of Thieves, Electric Avenue Productions and Principato Young Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television and is taped in front of a live audience. “The Gong Show” is executive produced by Will Arnett, Peter Principato, Marc Forman, Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager, Mike Myers, Jason Weinberg and Conrad Green. Jared Morell, Jordan Barrow, David Bohnert and Chris Choun are co-executive producers.
“The Gong Show” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format with a 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.
