LIVE BROADCAST OF SCIENCE CHANNEL'S "MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH" FINALE ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25 AT 9PM ET TO REVEAL NEW MYTHBUSTERS
(NEW YORK) - In a LIVE broadcast of Science Channel's MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH on Saturday, February 25 at 9pm ET, the next generation of Mythbusters will be revealed. Throughout the season, the final four contenders have all earned the right to be called Mythbusters, displaying killer myth-busting build skills, science smarts and remarkable nerves. Unfortunately, not all of them will walk away as Mythbusters. The finale, featuring MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH host and Nerdist science editor Kyle Hill, will originate from Jersey City's Liberty Science Center.

MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH, premiered in January, starting off with ten contestants tasked with testing out everyday myths. The myths ran the gamut from whether it's possible to find a needle in a haystack, to finding out if deflating footballs makes them easier to catch, to seeing if one can paint a room with explosives.

The field is now whittled down to four, whose final myth-busting project, water heater jail break, is designed to see if a water heater could be used as a rocket to escape from prison.

The final four are:

· Martin Pepper of Tucson, Arizona, a tinkerer and inventor with degrees in geology, ecology and psychology.

· Brian Louden of Spring, Texas, a certified rescue diver, pilot, and drone enthusiast with impressive build skills.

· Jonathan Lung of Staten Island, NY, a product designer, who always finds a way to build with his hands, whether it is designing and building furniture, or generating concepts and prototypes.
· Tamara Robertson of Los Angeles, an engineer, who grew up in Eastern, North Carolina watching a lot of Star Trek with her father, who also fostered Tamara's love of machinery as well all things technical.

Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition, an interactive museum exhibit on display through September 4, 2017 at the Liberty Science Center, will serve as the backdrop to the MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH finale.

MythBusters made its television debut on Discovery Channel in 2003 and ended its fourteen year run on the network last year. The series earned eight consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Reality Program from 2009-2016 and was produced by Beyond Productions in San Francisco. The program fused scientific method with gleeful curiosity and plain old-fashioned ingenuity to create a signature style of explosive experimentation.

MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH is produced for Science Channel by Beyond Productions. Dan Tapster and John Luscombe are executive producers. For Science Channel, Wyatt Channell is executive producer with Lindsey Foster Blumberg as producer.
