Christina Oliva is the epitome of a self-made woman. With no college degree and no business education she's built a booming hair extension business in her home town of Staten Island. Her youngest sister Victoria and second cousin Anthony both work for her at the salons but her middle sister, Jenn (the "smart one") has blazed her own trail and is an accountant. With business in Staten Island is as robust as ever, Christina has decided to expand with a salon in highly competitive Manhattan. However, this Staten Island born-and-bred "Working Girl" underestimated how challenging things would be in the Big Apple, and if she can't turn things around her lifelong dream could go up in smoke.
Beyond the business and family drama, viewers will step inside the salon to meet one of Christina’s NYC clients who is in desperate need of a hair rescue. Over the years Chrissy, a domestic violence survivor, has over-processed her hair so badly that she now is forced to wear wigs but wants to get her mojo back after a tough year. While Christina works on Chrissy's hair, Anthony suspects that one of their stylists is poaching clients. Anthony has to break the news to Christina knowing that if the betrayal is true, she will be heartbroken.
With all the twists and turns, will Christina be able to pull her salon together and make her NYC dreams come true?
