In spring and summer of 2009, Shout! Factory released
Part 1 and
Part 2 DVD sets of
Peyton Place, the classic soap opera, after having licensed the home video rights from Fox. By the end of 2010, fans were anxious that Shout! hadn't released a third set by then, so the studio's DVD producer in charge of that show revealed on Shout!'s message board that they had released all the episodes which Fox had contracted to them, and that the negotiations between the two studios for an additional license was not working out where Shout! could make it profitable for them. So fans have waited for years.
Now, finally, it looks like the two studios have figured out a way to make the numbers work for everybody! A new pre-order listing at Amazon.com (see button link below) shows that
Peyton Place - Part 3 will make it to DVD at long last on
March 27, 2018. This 5-disc set (same count as the two previous releases) will be priced at $34.99 SRP, and stars Mia Farrow, Dorothy Malone, Ryan O'Neal, Barbara Perkins, and Ed Nelson, among others. We don't have an episode count for this yet, but the first set had 31 episodes and the second one had 33, so this should be around those same counts. It's also expected to be in the original black-and-white, like the two previous releases have been. Stay tuned for updates, if we find out any more info! Here's a look at the packaging:
