TLC will premiere the Say Yes To The Prom special, hosted by Monte Durham (Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta). This year Discovery partnered with Seventeen magazine on a contest for one lucky deserving high school to win not only dresses and formal wear, but a prom itself! The winner was Washington Heights’ Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School. You can follow along with Inwood’s whole experience this at 9/8c on TLC.

In its 7th year Say Yes to the Prom is a giveback initiative from TLC and parent company Discovery designed to remove the financial burden of prom for deserving high school students across the U.S., and to go beyond the dress and tuxedo to build self-confidence and prepare students for their next journey: college and careers. It began as a dress drive & is now a nationwide tour of events bringing mentorship, prom dress and tuxedo shopping, and educational opportunities to deserving students across the country each year.
Our tour will continue across the country to help students affected by last year’s hurricanes: Miami, Tampa and Houston, and wrap up two of our offices in Knoxville, TN and Silver Spring, MD a suburb of Washington, D.C.
We’ve teamed up with Macy’s again this year on their exclusive Say Yes To Prom dress & jewelry lines, now available in store & online. Dresses are priced in the mid/upper $100 range & jewelry from $10-$28.
