NBC Renews "Good Girls" for Second Season

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC has commissioned a second season for its freshman entry "Good Girls," a network spokesperson confirmed this afternoon.
The Peacock further detailed the project as follows:
The cast includes Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men," "Another Period"), Retta ("Parks and Recreation," "Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce"), Mae Whitman ("Parenthood," "Arrested Development"), Reno Wilson ("Mike & Molly"), Manny Montana ("Graceland"), Lidya Jewett ("Hidden Figures"), Izzy Stannard ("Brad's Status") and Matthew Lillard ("Twin Peaks," "Bosch").
Jenna Bans writes and executive produces. Dean Parisot ("Galaxy Quest," "Masters of Sex," "Justified," "Curb Your Enthusiasm") directs and executive produces. Jeannine Renshaw ("Grey's Anatomy," "Ghost Whisperer," "The Family") also executive produces.
"Good Girls" is produced by Universal Television.
This season, "Good Girls" has been generating a 1.5 rating in 18-49 and 6.1 million viewers overall in L+7 Nielsen ratings, and concluded its season finishing #1 or tied for #1 in the timeslot versus the ABC and CBS drama competition for each of its last five consecutive telecasts in adults 18-49.
