Disney|ABC Television Earns 39 2018 Emmy® Award Nominations

DISNEY|ABC TELEVISION EARNS 39 2018 EMMY® AWARD NOMINATIONS
With Five Nods, ABC’s ‘black-ish’ Is the Only Broadcast Show
Nominated This Year for Outstanding Comedy Series
Disney|ABC Television received a total of 39 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, it was announced today by the Television Academy. ABC received 31 nominations; ABC Studios collected 14; and Disney Channels received five.
ABC and ABC Studios nominations included five for the comedy series “black-ish,” the most ever received by the show, which starts its fifth season in the fall. The nods included one for the top comedy award – Outstanding Comedy Series – the only broadcast comedy nominee this year, along with Outstanding Lead Actor for Anthony Anderson and Outstanding Lead Actress for Tracee Ellis Ross.
Other highlights include “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” which secured two nominations including Outstanding Variety Talk Series, and Laurie Metcalf’s nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for “Roseanne.” Viola Davis earned a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her appearance on “Scandal,” and Cicely Tyson earned her third nomination in the same category for her performance on “How to Get Away with Murder.”
“The Oscars®” is ABC’s most honored title, garnering eight nominations, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
At Disney Channels, the five nominations include Outstanding Children’s Program for Disney XD’s “Star Wars Rebels,”and Outstanding Animated Program for Disney Channel’s “Baymax Returns (Big Hero 6: The Series).”
