60 Minutes 8/19 on CBS

“60 MINUTES” LISTINGS FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 19

WAR CRIME – 60 MINUTES has obtained rare video of a 2017 sarin gas attack on Syrian civilians that drew a 59-missile response by the U.S. military last year. The disturbing high-definition video, shown publicly for the first time, exposes the horrors of these internationally banned weapons that the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad continues to use to massacre his own people. Scott Pelley reports. Nicole Young and Katie Kerbstat are the producers.
SAVING A GENERATION – A million children now live with their grandparents primarily due to their parents’ addictions, increasingly because of opioids. Bill Whitaker looks at this little noticed aspect of the opioid crisis that is seriously impacting the golden years of many Americans. Robert G. Anderson and Aaron Weisz are the producers.
SECOND ACT – The Israeli conductor Daniel Barenboim brings Muslims and Jews together in his West-East Divan Orchestra – a labor of love, peace and music for the legendary 75-year-old maestro. Holly Williams reports. Michael H. Gavshon and David M. Levine are the producers.
These previously broadcast segments have been updated for this summer edition.
