"Masterpiece: The Durrells in Corfu Season 3" Available on Digital and DVD this October

Arlington, Va.September 20, 2018 – PBS Distribution announces the release of “MASTERPIECE: THE DURRELLS IN CORFU SEASON 3.” Episodes of the program will be available for digital download on Prime Video and iTunes as well as for streaming on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel and in PBS Passport the day after broadcast beginning October 1.  The entire season will be available on DVD October 16.
In the highly anticipated third season, the beautiful island of Corfu continues to work its magic on the eccentric Durrell family. Even a visit from Aunt Hermione isn’t the usual dreaded experience as the formerly formidable matriarch has embraced the laid-back Greek attitude and found romance. Leslie is also enjoying a much-improved love life with three very different girls. But there’s no safety in numbers when his mother and siblings decide to interfere. Margo has (temporarily) given up on love and found a new vocation, while Gerry’s obsession with animals continues to grow. As for Louisa, a trip to the UK with Larry to sort out family affairs reminds her of the restrictions of her old life. After a brush with bohemian London artists, she realizes her heart belongs to her island paradise.

New episodes of “MASTERPIECE: THE DURRELLS IN CORFU SEASON 3will be available the day after broadcast beginning October 1, 2018 and the full  season will be available on DVD ($39.99 SRP) on October 16, 2018. The run time of the program is approximately 384 minutes with eight episodes.

Based on the memoirs of Gerald Durrell, the animal-loving youngest member of the clan, the series stars Keeley Hawes as the plucky widowed mother, Louisa Durrell; Josh O'Connor as her eldest son, Lawrence, who is destined to become a famous novelist; Callum Woodhouse as the hapless sportsman, Leslie; Daisy Waterstone as the lovelorn teen, Margo; and Milo Parker as Gerald. The bohemian Durrells fit right in with the light-hearted Greeks — except when they disastrously don’t.

It is written by Simon Nye, directed by Roger Goldby and Niall MacCormick, and produced by Christopher Hall.
