Arlington, Va. – October 31, 2018 –PBS Distribution announces today that the award-winning film DARK MONEY is now available to stream exclusively through Amazon’s Prime Video. Additionally, the film was recently nominated for top documentary awards at the Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards (winners announced November 10) and the International Documentary Association’s IDA Awards (winners announced December 8).

DARK MONEY is available for digital download and for purchase on DVD and Blu-ray.  The film was released theatrically to much critical acclaim and rave reviews in July, eventually playing in over 50 cities nationwide. On October 1, 2018 PBS documentary series POV broadcast the film ahead of this November’s midterm elections.

DARK MONEY, a political thriller, examines one of the greatest present threats to American democracy: the influence of untraceable corporate and union money on our elections and elected officials. The film takes viewers to Montana—a frontline in the fight to preserve fair elections nationwide—to follow an intrepid local journalist working to expose the real-life impacts of the US Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. Through this gripping story, DARK MONEY uncovers the shocking and vital truth of how American elections are bought and sold. This recipient of the Sundance Institute/Amazon Studios’ Producers Award is directed/produced by Kimberly Reed (PRODIGAL SONS) and produced by Katy Chevigny (E-TEAM).
