NEW YORK, January 9, 2019 – Comedy Central announced today the details of the 360 content universe surrounding the previously announced one-hour stand-up special Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist, which premieres January 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT as part of Stand-Up Month on Comedy Central. The special, which features a scripted opening with Chazz Palminteri, is accompanied by a digital album and exclusive linear and digital companion content custom tailored for Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist.

The album will be released on all digital retailers and streaming services on the day that the special premieres, January 18, and Distefano will appear as a guest the same evening on his own show, Comedy Central’s Friday-night interstitial series Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano, which guides viewers through the night’s programming. Roy Wood Jr., whose one-hour special Roy Wood Jr: No One Loves You premieres on January 25 as part of Stand-Up Month, will take on hosting duties opposite Distefano for January 18. Comedy Central recently announced the continuation of Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano as part of an exclusive overall deal between Distefano and the network.

Leading up to the on-air premiere of Size 38 Waist, CC Stand-Up social accounts and the recently launched Comedy Central Stand-Up YouTube channel will debut original, exclusive companion content based on the special and recorded in-studio with Distefano, along with preview clips from the special itself.

On January 19, the full special will be available in the CC App, on CC.com and On Demand, and available for digital download on platforms including iTunes, Prime Video, Microsoft Movies & TV, Google Play, Vudu and Verizon Fios On Demand. Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist is a hilarious and personal hour in which the Brooklyn native expounds on his fast-gentrifying home borough, fatherhood, and his open-minded outlook despite a conservative upbringing. At once a charmer and the product of a grittier New York, Distefano examines Brooklyns new and old with a mindset similarly caught in between. The New York-based Distefano is poised for a busy 2019, with the premiere of his first one-hour special, the continuation of Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano, and his freshly inked exclusive overall deal with Comedy Central. The pact encompasses several projects already in development, including a second hour-long stand-up special, an animated series, and an unscripted series. He currently co-stars in the web series Bay Ridge Boys alongside fellow comic Yannis Pappas, and, also with Pappas, co-hosts the popular weekly history podcast History Hyenas, which is available on iTunes and Riotcast. Distefano starred in the IFC series Benders and co-hosted Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster, has appeared on TruTV’s Comedy Knockout, MSG Network’s People Talking Sports, MTV’s Girl Code and Guy Code, and has performed stand-up on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, and AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live.
