New True-Crime Original Series Lets Viewers Become the Detective, First Nine Episodes Will Be Available to Binge in Any Order

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - March 12, 2019 - CBS All Access today announced production has officially begun in Albuquerque, N.M., on INTERROGATION, the service's new true-crime series where the viewer becomes the detective. The series' first nine episodes will be available to binge in any order with each episode structured around an interrogation. This multi-linear approach will give viewers the opportunity to follow their instincts and develop their own interpretations of the facts of the case and ultimately decide innocence or guilt. The shocking season finale will be released at a later date.

The series, starring Peter Sarsgaard, Kyle Gallner, Kodi Smit-McPhee and David Strathairn, is based on a true story that spanned more than 30 years, in which a young man (Gallner) was charged and convicted of brutally murdering his mother. Sarsgaard will play the lead detective on the case; Smit-McPhee will portray a troubled and homeless teen who meets Gallner's character at a drug-rehabilitation center, where they became quick friends; and Strathairn will play the father whose settled, suburban life is blown to pieces when his 17-year-old son is charged and convicted of his wife's murder. In addition, Frank Whaley will guest star as a seasoned detective who allows his ambitious partner (Sarsgaard) to take the lead on the murder case.

Produced by CBS Television Studios, co-creators Anders Weidemann ("30 Degrees in February") and John Mankiewicz ("House of Cards," "Bosch") will serve as executive producers alongside Fabrik Entertainment's Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate. Ernest Dickerson will direct six out of the series' 10 episodes and will also serve as executive producer. Patrick Cady will also direct.

In addition to INTERROGATION, CBS All Access' growing slate of original series also includes THE GOOD FIGHT, which will premiere its third season March 14, STRANGE ANGEL, returning for a second season this summer, TELL ME A STORY and NO ACTIVITY, which will return for a third season later this year. CBS All Access' slate of original series will continue to expand with the reimagining of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, premiering April 1, the new series WHY WOMEN KILL and the limited series THE STAND, with additional programming to be announced. CBS All Access is also the exclusive domestic home to STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS and a new untitled "Star Trek" series featuring Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard.
