STREAMING THIS APRIL
AN IMPECCABLE LINE-UP OF PROGRAMMING ON THE PBS MASTERPIECE PRIME VIDEO CHANNEL:
“LES MISÉRABLES,” “MRS. WILSON,”
“UNFORGOTTEN, SEASON 3” AND
TWO NEW WALTER PRESENTS
INTERNATIONAL CRIME DRAMAS
Arlington, VA -- March 21, 2019 – This April, PBS Distribution will begin streaming five new programs on the PBS MASTERPIECE Prime Video Channel that will have fans of drama, intrigue and suspense reeling with excitement. Leading the line-up is the extraordinarily haunting adaptation of LES MISÉRABLES, Victor Hugo’s epic tale and one of the greatest novels of all time. Starring Dominic West (The Affair, The Wire) the 6-episode mini-series is an epic television experience that is worthy of the original novel.
As the saying goes, “truth is stranger than fiction,” and Ruth Wilson’s (The Affair, Luther) true family story proves just that. MRS. WILSON is a dramatic story about Ruth’s own grandmother’s search for her husband’s true identity, after his sudden death uncovers secrets about his life. Ruth plays her grandmother in this suspenseful and unbelievable story of espionage and disloyalty that will captivate not only fans of James Bond novels but also fans of all mystery and thrillers.
UNFORGOTTEN, SEASON 3 takes fans of the compelling crime drama into a desperate search as detectives Cassie and Sunny uncover the tragic and shocking truth behind human remains found by a motorway near London.
And from Walter Presents, two captivating binge-worthy thrillers begin streaming on the Channel. LIFELINE is a sensational Spanish thriller that centers on a doctor’s insatiable drive to become the best surgeon in Europe – no matter what the cost. The highly anticipated third season of the Dutch psychological thriller, THE ADULTERER, continues to stun as the plot combines extramarital affairs, disloyalty, and murder to create a compelling storyline.
LES MISÉRABLES
A blockbuster novel for over 150 years comes vividly to life in award-winning screenwriter Andrew Davies’s multi-layered retelling of Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. This enthralling six-episode adaptation (not a musical) stars Dominic West (The Affair, The Wire) as Jean Valjean, the most famous fugitive in literature, David Oyelowo (Selma, Small Island) as stars his relentless pursuer, Javert, and Lily Collins (Rules Don’t Apply; Love, Rosie) as the tragic seamstress, Fantine; Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals) plays her adolescent daughter, Cosette; Academy Award winner, Olivia Colman (The Favourite) and Adeel Akhtar (Unforgotten) are Cosette’s cruel overseers, the Thénardiers; and Josh O'Connor (The Durrells in Corfu) is the student and reluctant revolutionary Marius, who falls in love with Cosette at first sight.
Joining the extensive cast are David Bradley (Game of Thrones, Harry Potter) as Marius’s formidable grandfather, Monsieur Gillenormand, and Derek Jacobi (Gladiator, Last Tango in Halifax) as the kindly Bishop of Digne, who rescues Valjean at his lowest ebb. The Guardian called it “A rich feast…c’est magnifique!”

MRS. WILSON
At the outset of World War II, Alison McKelvie took a secretarial job with the Secret Intelligence Service. There, she fell in love with an older man—Major Alexander Wilson, a popular author of spy novels, then doing real intelligence work for the war effort. Little did Alison know, but she was entering a plot as tangled as one of the Major’s mind-bending fictions.
Ruth Wilson (The Affair, Luther) stars as her own grandmother, Alison, in the true story of a woman’s search for her husband’s real identity. Wilson also served as executive producer, playing a pivotal role in bringing her family saga to television. “I would tell various people the story, and they all said to me, ‘you’ve got to get this made,’” she says.
Iain Glen (Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones) co-stars as Alec, a glamorous and seductive operative in the mold of James Bond, which is no accident, since Alec’s novels pioneered the character of the debonair spy, based on Alec’s own qualities. Ian Fleming later exploited this personality type in his Bond books.

Cassie’s compassion makes her determined to correct the mistakes made by the original investigating team - whatever the cost is to herself. A close-knit group of old school friends hold the key to what happened - Doctor Tim Finch, television host James Hollis, failing salesman Pete Carr, and artist Chris Lowe. THE ADULTERER: SEASON 3
The debut of THE ADULTERER was so successful in The Netherlands, that it caught the attention of U.S. TV producers and an American version of the show was created airing on ABC called “Betrayal.” Season 3 of THE ADULTERER picks up where the action left off two years ago -- Couwenberg is finally where he belongs, in prison. But justice has not been served, as he’s only been convicted for blackmail. Willem finds this quite difficult to accept considering the attempt on his own life and everything else he’s had to suffer at the hands of his former client. At least now he’s free to marry Iris and they can build a new life together. However, wedded bliss doesn’t last long when Anna, a mysterious, attractive woman appears on the scene bearing an equally large grudge against Willem’s old enemy. Despite Iris’ objections, Willem finds it difficult to leave the past behind him and agrees to join forces with Anna to go in search of justice.
Savvy Screener describes THE ADULTERER as a “steamy drama” and
Theuerotvplace.com warns, “The story is very compelling and could very well keep you watching until stupid o’clock in the morning.”
Walter Iuzzolino, curator of Walter Presents says, “The course of true love definitely does not run smoothly in this third season of the hit Dutch psychological thriller. With more plot twists and turns which makes this series so addictive, The Adulterer continues to surprise and seduce in equal measure.”
