Scottish film, television and theatre actor, Richard Rankin, announced through social media that he would be hosting his first ever solo photography exhibition, “His Mind’s Eye,” after seeing the encouragement from fans through his photography postings.

Rankin he has spent many years building an impressive resume. From his chilling portrayal of a serial killer in the indie horror, House of Him, to the passionate WW1 Doctor in the acclaimed but short-lived BBC/PBS mini-series The Crimson Field, Rankin has always gone the extra mile to push himself artistically. To keep pushing the limits he is now sharing some of his most intimate photography to the world and making them available as prints.

In the exhibition ‘His Mind’s Eye’, Richard Rankin draws a straight line between art and the claim and beauty of it: he creates a new category of “delicacy”, challenge the sensitivity of the senses, and leaves exciting thoughts in the viewer’s mind. The prints will take you on a journey of emotions and are designed in an specific arrangement for the ultimate experience.

The exhibit will also contain an interactive element that will allow patrons to take photos of themselves to be used in a future collection.

Rankin has cultivated a collection filled with expressions of truth and beauty. Asked about the art exhibition, Rankin said he never considered showing his photography. But now that he has begun to assemble pieces and put together a show, he joked he might need more than one building. Rankin also thanked Littlefield NYC for allowing him to express himself for the first time in a space that is so loving and accomindating creating a safe space for him to express himself.
