“Becoming Bow” – After Dre and the kids question Bow’s unusual upbringing, we flashback to a young, 12-year-old Rainbow living in a commune with her family. When the commune is unexpectedly raided, they are upended and must move to the suburbs. The mixed-race family has difficulty acclimating to this new mainstream life, and the kids struggle with their biracial identity as they try to fit in at their new school on a special, all-new episode of “black-ish,” TUESDAY, MAY 7 (9:00–9:30 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.
ABC’s “black-ish” stars Anthony Anderson as Andre “Dre” Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Laurence Fishburne as Pops, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson, Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Peter Mackenzie as Mr. Stevens and Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy.
Guest starring is Anders Holm as Paul, Tika Sumpter as Alicia, Gary Cole as Harrison, Arica Himmel as Rainbow, Christina Anthony as Denise, Ethan William Childress as Johan and Mykal-Michelle Harris as Santamonica.
“Becoming Bow” was written by Kenya Barris and Peter Saji; story by Kenya Barris, Peter Saji and Tracee Ellis Ross; and directed by Anton Cropper.
The series was created by Kenya Barris and is executive produced by Barris, Jonathan Groff, Kenny Smith, Gail Lerner, Courtney Lilly, Lindsey Shockley, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland and E. Brian Dobbins. The series is produced by ABC Studios.
ABC’s “black-ish” is broadcasted in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned to this program at a later date.
