“THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT” PRESENTS “RUSSIA WEEK,” STARTING MONDAY, JULY 17
July 10, 2017

(“THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT” PRESENTS “RUSSIA WEEK,”
STARTING MONDAY, JULY 17)

Colbert to Reveal Results of Top Secret, Highly Publicized Trip to
St. Petersburg and Moscow

Featuring His Previously-Undisclosed Meetings with Russian Citizens,
His Appearance on “Evening Urgant,” and Lessons on Living like an Oligarch from Russian Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov

Former Vice President Al Gore, Actress Issa Rae, Actor Keegan-Michael Key, Actor Jason Bateman and Rock Band Muse to
Appear as Guests During the Week
THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT will present “Russia Week” with shows highlighting the host’s recent visit to the country, starting Monday, July 17 (11:35 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

“I was asked to go to Russia by an acquaintance I knew from the 2013 Miss Universe pageant to meet with an individual who I was told might have information helpful to my show,” claimed Stephen Colbert in a statement. “Donald Trump Jr.’s father knew nothing of the meeting or these events. Or evidently, much else.”

With Russian/American relations dominating the current news cycle, Colbert went to Russia and colluded with his crew to document the visit. Throughout “Russia Week,” THE LATE SHOW will air pieces shot while Colbert was in St. Petersburg and Moscow, featuring his interactions with the Russian people, his interview and vodka shots on the Russian late night television talk show “Evening Urgant,” and lessons he learned on how to live the oligarch lifestyle from Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.

In addition to the Russia features airing throughout the week, THE LATE SHOW will welcome former Vice President Al Gore, actress Issa Rae, actor Keegan-Michael Key, actor Jason Bateman and English rock band Muse to the Ed Sullivan Theater as guests. Also, Colbert has extended an open invitation to any Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer with dirt on Hillary Clinton.

The news of the trip to Russia first broke on Thursday, June 22 after the highly-sensitive information that Stephen Colbert was in St. Petersburg was shamelessly leaked in a tweet by Stephen Colbert. That evening he taped an interview on the Russian late night talk show “Evening Urgant” with host Ivan Urgant, which aired the following night on Friday, June 23 on Russian state television. During his first show back from Russia on Monday, June 26, Colbert discussed his travel abroad and his interview with Ivan Urgant. The clip from that show is available to view here.

THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT, a production of The Late Show Inc., airs weeknights (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Stephen Colbert, Chris Licht, Tom Purcell and Jon Stewart are the executive producers.

“THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT” TO BROADCAST LIVE FOLLOWING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S ADDRESS TO CONGRESS, TUESDAY, FEB. 28

Actress Lisa Kudrow and Former White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest
Among Guests

THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT will broadcast live following President Donald Trump’s address to the joint session of Congress on Tuesday, Feb. 28 (11:35 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Colbert will host from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York and welcome actress Lisa Kudrow and former White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest as his guests.

This will mark the 15th time THE LATE SHOW has broadcast live, including the election night special on SHOWTIME. The live broadcasts during the political conventions in July 2016, following the presidential and vice presidential debates, and around the election in November 2016, earned strong ratings as well as critical acclaim.

THE LATE SHOW has finished the past two weeks as the #1 most watched show in late night and has won in the overnight ratings the past five nights in a row.
