High above the clouds in the branches of the highest trees, the adorable, monkey-like Monchhichis make their home. The peace-loving, highly developed, hirsute urchins would like nothing more than to swing their days away in their treetop utopia, but menace lurks nearby. Farther down the trunks live the wicked, goblin-like Grumplins, whose evil ruler, Horgg (voice of Sidney Miller), aches to enslave the clever Monchhichis for fun and profit.

Luckily, the Monchhichis ARE clever and, with the aid of their wise wizard Wizzar (voice of Frank Nelson), they manage to defeat the menacing Grumplins and swing away, to chatter and frolic another day. So climb up the tree to their community of Monchia where you'll meet Moncho (voice of Robert Morse), Patchitt (voice of Frank Welker), Tootoo (voice of Ellen Gerstell) and Kyla (Laurel Page), and discover why Monchhichis means happiness!
The 1983 cartoon from Hanna Barbera is coming home on DVD this April 18th when the Warner Archive Collection releases Monchhichis - The Complete Series as part of their manufacture on demand (MOD) program! The show, based on a Mattel-made toy (that was licensed from the originals in Japan), had a voice cast that included Transformers voice stars Peter Cullen and Frank Welker. For $24.99 SRP you'll get all 13 episodes from the ABC Saturday morning cartoon lineup, and here's the cover art (plus a WBshop.com pre-order button link):
