On Thursday, June 1st, ‘Ask This Old House’ will complete its 50-state tour with its first-ever visit to the Aloha State, cementing its position as one of the most extensively traveled public television programs. In the episode titled, Hawaii Makes 50, Tom Silva learns how to create a unique keepsake box from island materials in Build It. Richard Trethewey looks at a new way to store solar energy, and Roger Cook helps a multi-generational family grow an organic garden.

“We felt it was important to seek out unique stories that feel authentically local while still resonating with our audience on the mainland,” says senior producer Heath Racela. “We’ve partnered with many experts and will be working on projects across Oahu—from Waikiki and Kailua to Waianae and the North Shore. This special episode will also help us reach an important milestone—making house calls in all 50 states. It’s a satisfying conclusion to our 15th anniversary season.” – Senior producer, Heath Racela.
