From Emmy Award-winning executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, "Ted," "Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey"), THE ORVILLE is a live-action, one-hour space adventure series set 400 years in the future that follows The Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of everyday life.

The ensemble series stars MacFarlane as the ship's Commanding Officer and Adrianne Palicki ("Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Friday Night Lights") as his ex-wife, who's assigned as his First Officer. Additional cast members include Penny Johnson Jerald ("24," "The Larry Sanders Show"), Scott Grimes ("ER," "Justified"), Peter Macon ("Shameless," "Bosch"), Halston Sage ("Neighbors," "Goosebumps"), J Lee (FAMILY GUY, "The Cleveland Show"), Mark Jackson ("That Royal Today") and Chad L. Coleman ("The Walking Dead," "The Wire").
Three episodes of the show's freshman season have aired on the Fox network since its debut earlier this month, and I personally am enjoying what I've seen so far! And now Amazon.com has begun accepting pre-orders for The Orville- Season 1 on DVD. This listing is prior to the official Fox Home Entertainment announcement for the item, though, so instead of a street date Amazon merely says "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives."

Pricing is available, however, at $29.95 SRP. There are no other details available so far at Amazon's entry, but there is early box art (seen below; may not be finalized yet, and could be subject to change). Stay tuned, of course, and we'll update you further on this title just as soon as we find out more! Our thanks to longtime reader Gordon Hartman for pointing this out to us.
