Catch up with the lives and relationships of reunited childhood sweethearts Alan and Celia and their family members in this warm and witty two-part special. To Celia's dismay, Caroline takes on a challenging new headship role at a troubled state school and buys a rundown farmhouse nearby. Is there more to this big upheaval than she's letting on - and will her move prompt her mother and Alan to finally find a place of their own? Meanwhile Gillian is struggling to adjust to new husband Robbie being around all day since he retired from the police. With Celia trying to rope a reluctant Alan into her new amateur dramatics hobby, Caroline negotiating a tricky new relationship and Gillian fighting a compulsion to confess to Robbie how his brother really died, life for these much-loved characters is as complicated as ever. Waaay back in May 2016 we first reported that Last Tango in Halifax - Season 4 was in-the-works for DVD, and that it first had a release date planned for February of this year. Then, just days prior to that original date, we followed up with news that the title had been pushed back to November 14th...a week from today. The 4th season (or series, really, since it's a UK program!) actually consists of just 2 episodes, both of them Christmas-themed, and airing on December 19th and 20th of 2016 (last year). So now we've got cover art, finally, for this upcoming release (see below)...and the front of the box shows that the item has been officially titled "Last Tango in Halifax - Holiday Special." Amazon's pre-order listing (see button link below) shows this artwork, even while listing the title as "season four" at the top of the listing! The title's entry at the BBC Shop also shows this item titled at the "Special," and confirms the November 14th release date...IF you buy it from the BBC's online store! Amazon, along with info from Warner Home Video (which is the BBC Home Entertainment DVD distributor in North America) both show that the general retail release for this title will be January 2nd, instead. Adjust your plans accordingly!
