Vikings - 'Season 5, Part 1' on DVD, Blu-ray: Early Box Art, Pricing, Possible Street Date No official word from studio sources yet, but Amazon USA shows packaging pics and Amazon Canada has a date scheduled

Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, Dracula) and wrestler Adam "Edge" Copeland join the cast in the show's fifth season, which - like the fourth season - is split into two different groups of ten episodes each. The second half of the season has yet to begin airing, but we may have word about a home video release for Vikings - Season 5, Part 1. There's no word about this title from MGM or their USA distributors at Fox Home Entertainment, and there's no word either directly from the show's Canadian distributor, eOne (Entertainment One). However, Amazon.com shows this item is in-the-works for both DVD ($39.98 SRP) and high-def Blu-ray Disc ($49.99 SRP). There's no release date provided at those Amazon.com listings, just the package art seen below (may not be finalized yet, and could be subject to change). Both boxes show that these are a 3-disc set on the spines. But instead of a date, the entries say, "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." You can lock in your copy using the links provided above. On Amazon.ca, however, the Canadian branch of the giant e-tailer, the same titles are listed for both DVD and also for Blu-ray Disc (CA$54.98 SRP in either format, according the entries), and both are showing a street date of April 3rd!! We don't have studio confirmation of that date, however, so it may not be the finalized street date. We're keeping our eyes and ears and inboxes open for updates about this title (in both formats, and for both countries), so stay tuned. It's a great show!
