WINTER 2018 TCA PRESENTATION NEWS FROM CRACKLE, A SONY NETWORK

Pasadena, CA, January 14, 2018 Crackle, Sony Pictures Television Networks’ free, ad-supported streaming network, presented today during the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter 2018 Press Tour in Pasadena, CA. Eric Berger, Crackle’s GM and CDO at Sony Pictures Television Networks, made several announcements in addition to presenting a panel in support of the network’s new scripted drama “The Oath” with stars Ryan Kwanten (“True Blood”), Cory Hardrict (American Sniper, Gran Torino), Katrina Law (“Training Day”), Arlen Escarpeta (“The Magicians”), J.J. Soria (“Animal Kingdom,” “The Fosters”), Elisabeth Röhm (“Law & Order”) and showrunner, executive producer and writer Joe Halpin in attendance.  The network also released a new trailer and key art for the drama series, which will premiere with all 10-episodes on Thursday, March 8th

In addition, Berger announced development on two new series: “The Butcher,” a contemporary twist on the supernatural world produced by award winners Douglas Urbanski and Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour); and a new comedy entitled “Rob Riggle’s Jet Ski Academy” starring and written by Rob Riggle. The network also announced the acquisition of the comedy-horror Office Uprising which will debut this summer. 

Returning series news included the start of production on season two of “Snatch” in Spain’s Costa Del Sol and the announcement that “Entourage’s” Kevin Connolly will direct several episodes. Also, season three of “StartUp” begins shooting this month in Puerto Rico with new additions to the cast including Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino. Plus, all-new weekly episodes of “SuperMansion” will return beginning April 12th, with special guest Mikey Day, and the network announced plans for a new special in summer 2018.

In VR news, Snatch VR Heist Experience will debut on PlayStation®VR January 16th, and a VR experience for In the Cloud will launch on February 1st, ahead of the February 8th movie premiere.
