20/20 6/9 (Rerun) on ABC

ABC News’ ‘20/20’ Airs Saturday, June 9 (Rebroadcast)

ALCOHOL, A HIGH SCHOOL PARTY, AND A ‘HE SAID, SHE SAID’ DIVIDES A SMALL ALABAMA TOWN
‘20/20’ Airs Saturday, June 9 (10:00 – 11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC
A night of underage drinking led to two lives forever changed and an Alabama town divided. Eighteen-year-old runningback Cameron Harrison was charged with first degree rape of Savannah, a 16-year-old classmate, after a police investigation into a high school party on October 24, 2015. Savannah speaks to ABC News correspondent Ryan Smith about the party and what happened afterward. The “20/20” report also includes interviews with Savannah’s parents, students who were at the party and Detective Jason Vannoy of the Daphne Police Department, lead investigator on the case. “20/20” airs Saturday, June 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (Rebroadcast. ABC OAD: 06/02/17)
Multiple witnesses claim Savannah was “very intoxicated” at the party and cell phone video shows four people carrying her upstairs. Other witnesses from the party tell a different story, saying that although Savannah had been drinking, she was coherent, laughing, walking and speaking. The case came down to whether Savannah gave consent or not. After the party, Harrison was suspended from school and football, and placed on house arrest. The investigation divided the town: Harrison’s friends supported him while others stood behind Savannah.
After 18 months, the case concluded in a manner that surprised many.
“20/20” is anchored by David Muir and Amy Robach. David Sloan is senior executive producer.
