DARREN STAR'S "YOUNGER" RENEWED FOR SEASON SIX ON TV LAND

New York, NY June 4, 2018 TV Land's critically acclaimed comedy "Younger" has been renewed for a sixth season, it was announced tonight at the series' season 5 premiere party in Brooklyn. The news, announced by Kevin Kay, President, TV Land, CMT and Paramount Network, and Keith Cox, President, Development and Production, TV Land, CMT and Paramount Network, comes on the heels of tomorrow's much-anticipated season 5 premiere at 10pm ET/PT.

The success of "Younger" has spurred the launch of a pre-show on Facebook Live, a podcast, and a major book release, Marriage Vacation, from Simon & Schuster. Hailed a "genius comedy treasure" by Entertainment Weekly, "Younger" is created by Darren Star ("Sex and the City") and stars two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster with Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann, Molly Bernard and Charles Michael Davis. Last season was the highest-rated and most-watched season in series history, and the series ranked as the #1 original ad-supported cable sitcom with women 18-49 and women 25-54. "Younger," which premieres June 5 at 10pm ET/PT, also has an extensive global footprint and is distributed in over 155 countries and territories worldwide.

"'Younger' exemplifies romantic comedy at its best and each season the show hits new creative and ratings heights," said Kevin Kay, President, TV Land, CMT and Paramount Network, "We are honored to continue to work with the brilliant Darren Star and this amazing cast, led by the multi-talented Sutton Foster. The new season is outstanding and we are thrilled for what's to come for these beloved characters."

"Younger" follows Liza, a woman who lies about her age in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing. As Liza's personal and professional lives have become irreversibly intertwined, keeping her secret has become increasingly difficult. As she has ultimately revealed the truth to Kelsey, her close friend and partner at work, Liza must keep up appearances as she is torn between her attraction to her boss and the fact that their professional relationship was built on a lie.

"Younger" star Miriam Shor directed the fifth episode, airing July 10th, of the upcoming season. Before tomorrow's premiere airs on TV Land, fans can catch the stars of the show on the digital preshow "Getting Younger" Tuesday at 9:30pm ET/6:30pm PT on Facebook @YoungerTV. The "Younger Uncovered" podcast is now available on Apple Podcasts.

"Younger," which films at the legendary Silvercup Studios in New York, is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star, with Tony Hernandez of JAX Media executive producing for TV Land. Dottie Zicklin and Eric Zicklin also serve as executive producers and writers on the series.
