"Hi, my name is Gotham Chopra and I am the director of SHUT UP AND DRIBBLE and had the privilege of working with SpringHill Entertainment, as well as my executive producing partners Maverick Carter, Rich Paul, and Lebron James and an incredibly talented and passionate team of creators on this series over the last 2 years. It's hard to imagine we're just days away from the premiere of the first episode on SHOWTIME and I am very eager to see how people respond to the series. A little "behind the scenes" - where this series started and where it ended up was not entirely a straight line. That's mostly to do with the fact that the last two years of American history have been anything but a straight line and we've adapted with the times. It's synchronistic that we are releasing this series three days before the midterm elections and it's my hope that we will contribute to the dialogue that we sorely need in this country about the importance of civic engagement, cultural inclusion, why sports matter (beyond wins and losses), and persistence in the face of struggle. SHUT UP AND DRIBBLE chronicles the modern history of the NBA and its players, including the 1976 merger of the freewheeling ABA and the more conventional NBA.
