48 Hours 6/1 on CBS

“48 HOURS” SATURDAY DOUBLE FEATURE TACKLES TWO CASES WITH UNEXPECTED TWISTS AND FAMILIES TORN APART BY CRIME

(L-R) Tiffany Mead and Jodi Huisentruit
48 HOURS takes on two cases with unexpected twists and families torn apart by crime in a Saturday night double feature to be broadcast Saturday, June 1 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
At 9:00 PM, Erin Moriarty and 48 HOURS investigate what happened to Tiffany Mead, a young mother, who called 911 to say she tried to kill herself by slashing her own throat in an encore of “Don’t Scream.” First responders found a gruesome, blood-covered scene that July 2013 night. Mead later changed her story to say it wasn’t a suicide attempt, but rather her estranged husband had tried to kill her.
Mead opened up to Moriarty about the night of the incident and her life since. She said the slashing incident started when she met her estranged husband, Kris Ertmann, in a secluded park to get a child support check. She says that he suddenly grabbed her in a bear hug. Mead thought she was going to die. She lived, but that was just the start of an extensive investigation to find out exactly what happened in a darkened, secluded park, and the case against Ertmann.
At 10:00 PM, 48 HOURS and Jim Axelrod report on the more-than-two-decade search for what happened to Iowa television anchor Jodi Huisentruit, which includes new details on the investigation in the case, in an encore of “Find Jodi.” Huisentruit was an anchor at KIMT-TV, the CBS affiliate in Mason City, Iowa, when she disappeared on her way to work on June 27, 1995. When she didn’t arrive at the television station for her morning assignment, concerned co-workers alerted police. Outside her apartment building, police found signs of a struggle, and her car was still there. She was never seen again. Her body was never found, and what happened to her is a mystery.
FindJodi” explores multiple leads and theories about her abduction. Was it a crime of opportunity, was she targeted by an obsessed fan or was it someone she knew?
