‘TONIGHT SHOW’ WINS THE ENCORE WEEK OF AUG. 19-23 IN 18-49

At 12:35 a.m., “Late Night” Tops “Late Late Show” for the Week in 18-49 & Leads the Season Over “Late Late” & “Nightline” in Every Key Measure

NEW YORK — Aug. 27, 2019 — Encore telecasts of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” have taken the late-night ratings week of Aug. 19-23 in adults 18-49 as well as adults, men and women 25-54 versus rebroadcasts of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

“Tonight’s” 0.28 rating in adults 18-49 for the week outscored “Kimmel’s” 0.27 and “Late Show’s” 0.24. 

Last week at 12:35 a.m. ET, encores of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” topped CBS’ rebroadcasts of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in adults 18-49, total viewers and adults, men and women 25-54. Season to date, Meyers leads both “Late Late Show” and ABC’s “Nightline” in “most current” averages in every key ratings category.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Aug. 27, 2019 — NBC has won the primetime ratings week of Aug. 19-25 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers, according to “live plus same day” viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research. 

Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent” was the week’s #1 primetime telecast on the Big 4 networks in both 18-49 and total viewers, while the Tuesday and Wednesday editions combined to rank #1-2 for the week in total viewers for a second week in a row. Sunday’s Steelers-Titans NFL Preseason telecast joined “AGT” to give NBC three of the week’s four most watched programs.

It’s the seventh time in nine weeks NBC has earned at least a share of the 18-49 lead and 10th week in a row NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in total viewers.

NBC’s 4.0 million viewers for the week is the highest for any network in eight weeks, since NBC delivered 4.9 million for the week of June 24-30. The 0.8 in 18-49 equals the high for any net since NBC scored a 0.9 that same June 24-30 week.

“Talent” continued its streak this summer of ranking as television’s #1 most-watched entertainment show every week it’s aired. 

In 18-49, NBC telecasts ranking in the top 20 among primetime shows on the Big 4 networks were the Tuesday and Wednesday “AGT” editions (#1 and tied for #7 respectively), Sunday’s NFL game (#2), Monday’s “American Ninja Warrior” (tied for #7) and Tuesday’s “Bring the Funny” and Wednesday’s “Songland” (tied for #14). 

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34 and is #1 or tied for #1 in all key adult-female demos and men 25-54. In total viewers, excluding sports, NBC is running within 1.058 million persons of #1 CBS, NBC’s closest position to #1 in total viewers at this point in the season, excluding sports, in 16 years, since trailing by 608,000 persons at this time in 2002-03.

“American Ninja Warrior” (0.8 rating in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) tied as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in men 18-49 and men 25-54.
L+35+Digital: After 35 days of digital and linear delayed viewing plus encores, “American Ninja Warrior” has been growing this summer by +142% in adults 18-49 and +5.3 million viewers overall versus its next-day “live plus same day” Nielsens, to a 2.17 rating in 18-49 and 9.9 million viewers overall in L+35+digital including encores.
“Dateline NBC” (0.5 rating in adults 18-49, 0.7 in adults 25-54, 3.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the timeslot among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-48, adults 25-54 and total viewers. It’s the 10th week in a row Monday’s “Dateline” has ranked #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49.

NBC ranked #1 Tuesday night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and every other key measure (including a tie in women 18-34).
“America’s Got Talent” (1.6 rating in 18-49, 9.4 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) grew +14% week to week in 18-49 (1.6 vs. 1.4) and +4% in total viewers (9.4 million vs. 9.1 million), outrating “Bachelor in Paradise” in the timeslot by +45% in 18-49 (1.6 vs. 1.1 from 8-10) and +5.3 million persons or +129% in total viewers (9.4 million vs. 4.1 million), stretching its timeslot lead over “Bachelor in Paradise” to +45% from the week-ago +17% (1.4 vs. 1.2). “AGT” scored its 18-49 high since July 23 (1.7). Week to week, “BTF” maintained 100% in 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.7) and grew +6% in total viewers (3.7 million vs. 3.4 million). “America’s Got Talent” (1.1 rating in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in total viewers. beating “Big Brother” in the timeslot in total viewers by a margin of +80% or +3.6 million persons (8.1 million vs. 4.5 million). Week to week, “Talent” was up +3% in total viewers (8.1 million vs. 7.9 million) to give NBC it’s top total-viewer results in the hour since “The Billboard Music Awards” on May 1 (8.139 million from 8-9 p.m.).
“Songland” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall from 9:01-10 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the timeslot networks in total viewers and adults 25-54, outdelivers “BH90201” in the hour by +1.2 million persons or +57% in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 2.2 million). Thursday
An encore telecast of “The Wall” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 2.7 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) topped ABC’s original competition of “Holey Moley” in total viewers (2.7 million vs. 2.6 million), and maintained 100% of the prior week’s encore in this timeslot in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5).
A rebroadcast of “Ellen’s Game of Games” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 2.4 viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) outscored ABC’s original “Holey Moley” season finale in the timeslot in total viewers (2.4 million vs. 2.1 million) and tied it in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5), while equaling NBC’s highest 18-49 rating in the timeslot, excluding live events, since April 4 (0.6).
An encore telecast of “Law & Order: SVU” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) tied for #1 among non-sports programs in the time period in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, and was the hour’s #1 entertainment show outright in women 18-49. The “SVU” rebroadcast beat ABC’s original competition of “Reef Break” in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and nearly every other key ratings measure.

Friday
NBC tied as the top non-sports network Friday night in adults 18-49.
An encore telecast of “American Ninja Warrior” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 2.0 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) maintained 100% versus the prior week’s rebroadcast in this timeslot in 18-49 (0.4 vs. 0.4) and grew +7% in total viewers (2.0 million vs. 1.9 million).
A rebroadcast of “Dateline NBC” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 0.7 in adults 25-54, 2.8 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) finished as the #1 non-sports show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. Week to week, “Dateline” was up +3% in total viewers (2.8 million vs. 2.7 million). L+7:Through the traditional September-to-May season, Friday’s “Dateline” grew by +51% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.57 to a 0.86) and more than +1.2 million viewers overall (3.5 million to 4.7 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Sunday
NBC Sports coverage of an NFL preseason game featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Tennessee Titans (1.5 rating in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall from 8:08-11:01 p.m. ET) dominated the night, leading NBC to the top 18-49 and total-viewer Sunday primetime averages for any broadcast network since June 16, when Fox carried primetime coverage of golf’s U.S. Open.

NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH LESTER HOLT IS #1 FOR AUGUST, WINNING KEY A25-54 DEMO

August 27, 2019 – NBC News with Lester Holt is the #1 evening newscast in the key A25-54 demo for the month of August, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, Nightly News wins the week of August 19, which the broadcast kicked off from inside Iran, and continues to lead season to date in the demo most valued by advertisers.

For the month of August, Nightly News averages 1.513 million viewers in A25-54, topping CBS by +531,000 and ABC by +6,000. The broadcast wins the key demo for the fifth consecutive August and for four out of the last five months.

For the week of August 19, Nightly News averages 1.555 million viewers, leading CBS by +559,000 and ABC by +3,000, despite it being the only broadcast rated for all five days. NBC’s signature newscast is also the only one to improve week over week, delivering its best A25-54 demo in 13 weeks. 

Nightly News continues to surpass CBS and ABC season to date, and is on track to score its 12th straight season in the key news demo. Additionally, the broadcast also leads in the younger A18-49 demo for the 23rd consecutive season.

Last week, Holt reported from inside Tehran, Iran for a special edition of Nightly News, where he spoke with top diplomats, including a rare interview with the head of Iran’s National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, as well as an interview with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Earlier this month, Holt anchored from El Paso, Texas, following the two tragic mass shootings.

“Tonight’s” 0.34 rating in adults 18-49 for the week outscored “Late Show’s” 0.29 and “Kimmel’s” 0.31. Fallon also ranked #1 for the week in adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54. 

Note that all 11:30 p.m. and 12:35 a.m. weeknight shows except “Nightline” ran Friday rebroadcasts, with CBS excluding its Friday encore results from these weekly averages.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Aug. 20, 2019 — NBC has tied for #1 for the primetime ratings week of Aug. 12-18 in adults 18-49 and taken the week in total viewers and adults 25-54, according to “live plus same day” viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research. 

It’s the ninth week in a row NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in total viewers and sixth time in eight weeks NBC has earned at least a share of the 18-49 lead.

Tuesday and Wednesday editions of “America’s Got Talent” generated the week’s top two total-viewer performances, with the Tuesday telecast tying Sunday NFL football on Fox as the #1 show in 18-49.

“Talent” continued its streak this summer of ranking as television’s #1 most-watched entertainment show every week it’s aired. 

In 18-49, NBC telecasts ranking in the top 20 among primetime shows on the Big 4 networks were the Tuesday and Wednesday “AGT” editions (tied for #1 and tied for #5 respectively), Monday’s “American Ninja Warrior” (tied for #10) and Wednesday’s “Songland,” Tuesday’s “Bring the Funny” and Monday’s “Dateline NBC” (tied for #15).
Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34 and is #1 or tied for #1 in all key adult-female demos, men 18-49 and men 25-54. In total viewers, excluding sports, NBC is running within 1.074 million persons of #1 CBS, NBC’s closest position to #1 in total viewers at this point in the season, excluding sports, in 16 years, since trailing by 578,000 persons at this time in 2002-03.

“American Ninja Warrior” (0.9 rating in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night in total viewers and adults 25-54. In adults 18-49, “Ninja” equaled the show’s Monday high for this season and matched its high for any night since the show’s season premiere Wednesday, May 29 (1.0). It’s the most-watched “ANW” since June 17 (4.782 million). “Ninja” grew +13% week to week in 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.8) and +3% in total viewers (4.8 million vs. 4.6 million).
L+35+Digital: After 35 days of digital and linear delayed viewing plus encores, “American Ninja Warrior” has been growing this summer by +149% in adults 18-49 and +5.6 million viewers overall versus its next-day “live plus same day” Nielsens, to a 2.26 rating in 18-49 and 10.3 million viewers overall in L+35+digital including encores.

The Wednesday season premiere of “America’s Got Talent” (1.1 rating in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) tied as the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in total viewers. In the timeslot, “AGT” tied for #1 with “Big Brother” and won the slot in total viewers by +87% or +3.7 million persons (7.9 million vs. 4.2 million). Versus NBC’s summer-to-date average in the timeslot “Talent” was up by +57% above (1.1 vs. 0.7, L+SD excluding sports) and +4.4 million persons or +128% in total viewers (7.9 million vs. 3.5 million).
“Songland” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 9:01-10 p.m. ET) won the hour in total viewers, outdelivering Fox’s Week 2 of “BH90201” in the timeslot by +30% in total viewers (3.3 million vs. 2.6 million). “Songland” returned from a six-week break and moved to a new night and maintained 100% of the 18-49 for its prior original telecast (0.7 vs. 0.7 million on Tuesday, July 2 at 10:01 p.m. Versus NBC’s timeslot average so far this summer, “Songland” was up +17% (0.7 vs. 0.6, L+SD excluding sports) and +15% in total viewers (3.277 million vs. 2.848 million). An encore telecast of “The Wall” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) topped ABC’s original competition of “Holey Moley” in total viewers (2.9 million vs. 2.5 million). “The Wall” jumped +25% versus the previous week’s encore in this timeslot in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.4) and +18% in total viewers (2.9 million vs. 2.5 million).
A rebroadcast of “Ellen’s Game of Games” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 2.5 viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) outscored ABC’s original competition of “Family Food Fight” in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.3) and total viewers (2.5 million vs. 1.6 million), while delivering NBC’s biggest audience in the timeslot, excluding live events, since July 11 (2.666 million), and equaling the network’s 18-49 slot high excluding live events since April 4 (0.6).

It’s the eighth week in a row NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in total viewers and fifth time in seven weeks NBC has earned at least a share of the 18-49 lead. NBC also tied for #1 for the week in adults 25-54.

“America’s Got Talent” continued its streak this summer of ranking as television’s #1 most-watched entertainment show every week it’s aired, while last week also tying as the #1 program of the week in the key adults 18-49 demo. 

In 18-49, Tuesday’s “Bring the Funny” tied for #8 among primetime shows on the Big 4 networks, Monday’s “American Ninja Warrior” ranked #10, Wednesday’s 8 p.m. “Ellen’s Game of Games” encore tied for #11 and Monday’s “Dateline NBC” and Wednesday’s 9 p.m. “Ellen’s” tied for #15. 

Finishing in the top 10 in total viewers with the #1-ranking “Talent” were “Ninja Warrior” (#5) and “Bring the Funny” (#9).

NEW YORK — Aug. 13, 2019 — “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has averaged a 0.31 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.710 million viewers overall for the late-night ratings week of Aug. 5-9, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.
“Tonight” ranked #1 for the week among the 11:30 p.m. ET broadcast talk shows in adults 25-54 with a 0.49 rating vs. a 0.48 for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and a 0.44 for “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” “Tonight” also took the week in women 25-54, women 18-49 (tie) and women 18-34.

Note that all 11:30 p.m. and 12:35 a.m. weeknight shows except “Nightline” ran Friday rebroadcasts, with CBS excluding its Friday encore results from these weekly averages.
For the week, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” topped CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key categories. Season to date, Meyers also leads both “Late Late Show” and ABC’s “Nightline” in “most current” averages in every key ratings category.

On Facebook, seven “Tonight” videos topped 1 million views, paced by the Dakota Johnson clip (3 million).

August 13, 2019 – NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt is the #1 evening newscast in the key A25-54 demo for the week of August 5, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, NBC’s signature newscast continues to outpace both ABC and CBS season to date in the demo most valued by advertisers.

Nightly News leads the broadcast newscasts with an average of 1.508 million in A25-54, topping ABC by 3% and CBS by 57%. The newscast is also the only broadcast up across the board in A25-54 (+2%), A18-49 (+7%) and total viewers (+4%) compared to the prior week. 

Season to Date, Nightly News continues to lead in the key news demo for the 12th straight year, and in A18-49 for 23 consecutive years.

Last week, Holt anchored from El Paso, Texas on Sunday and Monday following the two mass shootings. He reflected on the tragic shootings, saying: “there is too much to lose for us to succumb to numbness and despair. And what we can't forget is that this is sadly common, but it is not normal. And that should give us hope.” He also spoke with a father, who lost his son in the Parkland mass shooting last year and was in El Paso to unveil a mural in his son’s honor. And on Friday, NBC News correspondent Harry Smith had a powerful close to the broadcast paying tribute to recent victims of mass shootings.

NEW YORK — Aug. 6, 2019 — “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has won the late-night ratings week of July 29-Aug. 2 in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics over “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research. 

Fallon’s 0.35 rating for the week is his highest since the week of June 24-28 (0.41).
“Tonight” won five of five nights for the week in the key 18-49 demo, including Tuesday and Wednesday when it faced live competition from “Colbert” on nights of Democratic Presidential Debates. “Tonight” also topped “Kimmel” on Tuesday, the night the ABC series featured a tie-in to that night’s “Bachelorette” finale.

On Thursday, following high-rated primetime NFL Preseason coverage, Fallon generated his highest 18-49 rating in five weeks, with a 0.40, best since a 0.52 on Thursday, June 27, the night of a live “Tonight” telecast. Also last Thursday, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” matched its five-week high (0.24, equaling its best since a 0.30 for its live telecast on June 27).
For the week, Meyers topped CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key categories. Season to date, Meyers also leads both “Late Late Show” and ABC’s “Nightline” in “most current” averages in every key ratings category.
In the digital realm, “Tonight” had the most-viewed YouTube late-night clip of the week with Jimmy’s interview of Fortnite World Cup Solo Champion Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf, which earned 2.7 million views last week (and is now up over 3 million).

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Aug. 6, 2019 —NBC has won the primetime ratings week of July 29-Aug. 4 in total viewers, according to “live plus same day” viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research. 

It’s the seventh week in a row NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in total viewers. NBC also ranked #1 for the week in adults 25-54 (tie), men 25-54 and men 18-49.

“America’s Got Talent” continued its streak this summer of ranking as television’s #1 most-watched entertainment show every week it’s aired. Last week it was joined among the top primetime programs on the Big 4 networks in total viewers by Thursday’s “NFL Hall of Fame Game” (#5) , Monday’s “American Ninja Warrior” (#7), Monday’s “Dateline NBC” (#12) and Tuesday’s “Bring the Funny” (#13).

In the key adult 18-49 demographic, NBC placed seven shows among the week’s top 20 primetime programs on the Big 4: the Thursday NFL game (#3), “Talent” (#4), “Ninja Warrior” (tied for #8), “Bring the Funny” (tied for #12) and Monday’s “Dateline” and both Wednesday encores of “Ellen’s Game of Games” (tied for #15). 

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and #1 or tied for #1 in adults 25-54, adults 18-34, all key adult-female demos and men 25-54. L+35+Digital+Encores: Within 35 days, “American Ninja Warrior” has been growing this summer by +179% in adults 18-49 and +7.2 million viewers overall versus its next-day “live plus same day” Nielsens, to a 2.64 rating in 18-49 and 11.8 million viewers overall in L+35+digital+encores.
“Dateline NBC” (0.6 rating in adults 18-49, 0.9 in adults 25-54, 3.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) tied for #1 in the timeslot among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 outright among those nets in adults 25-54 and total viewers. “Dateline” was the #3 primetime show of the night on the Big 4 networks in total viewers and adults 25-54, behind only “American Ninja Warrior” and “Bachelorette.” 

Tuesday
NBC won Tuesday in total viewers.
“America’s Got Talent” (1.2 rating in 18-49, 8.0 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 most-watched show of the night in total viewers, topping the “Bachelorette” finale head to head (8.0 million vs. 7.5 million). For its first hour from 8-9 p.m., “Talent” tripled CBS’ “Love Island” in 18-49 (1.2 vs. 0.4) and quadrupled it in total viewers (7.9 million vs. 1.9 million from 8-9). An encore “Ellen’s Game of Games” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in total viewers, topping originals of CBS’ “Love Island” (2.4 million) and Fox’s “MasterChef” (3.113 million), and tied for #2 among those nets in 18-49.
A second rebroadcast of “Ellen’s Game of Games” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) finished #2 in the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in both 18-49 and total viewers, topping originals of ABC’s “Card Sharks” (0.5 in 18-49, 2.8 million viewers) and Fox’s “First Responders Live” (0.5 in 18-49, 2.0 million viewers).
“The InBetween” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) jumped +0.1 of a point or +33% week to week in 18-49 (0.4 vs. 0.3) and +17% in total viewers (2.6 million vs. 2.2 million), to deliver the show’s most-watched episode since June 19 (2.741 million) and equal its high rating since June 5 in 18-49 (0.5). L+35+Digital: After 35 days of linear and digital delayed viewing, “The InBetween” grows by +163% in adults 18-49 and adds +3.2 million viewers overall to its next-day “live plus same day” results, increasing to a 1.36 rating in 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers overall.

Thursday
NBC Sports coverage of Thursday’s NFL Hall of Fame Game, featuring the Denver Broncos and the Atlanta Falcons (1.5 rating in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 8:10-11 p.m. ET) won the night in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures, winning six of six primetime half-hours in both 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. NBC more than doubled the night’s #2 network in 18-49 (1.5 vs. 0.7 for Fox).

Friday
NBC tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks Friday night in adults 18-49 and #1 outright among those nets in adults 25-54.

L+7: Through the traditional September-to-May season, Friday’s “Dateline” grew by +51% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.57 to a 0.86) and more than +1.2 million viewers overall (3.5 million to 4.7 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Saturday
NBC won Saturday primetime among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers.
An encore telecast of “Bring the Funny” (0.2 rating in 18-49, 1.3 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) increased by +15% versus the previous week’s encore in this timeslot in total viewers (1.330 million vs. 1.161 million).
"Dateline Saturday Night Mystery” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 0.7 in 25-54, 3.0 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) was the #1 primetime telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline Mystery” grew +67% in adult 18-49 rating (0.4 to 0.5), +33% in 25-54 (0.6 to 0.8) and +1.1 million persons or +45% in total viewers (2.4 million to 3.5 million). “Dateline Mystery” reported the show’s top 25-54 and total-viewer results since June 15 (0.7 in 25-54, 3.019 million viewers).

NEW YORK – August 6, 2019 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show last week and for the July sweep topping “Good Morning America” in the key demo A25-54. TODAY has now won the key demo for 188 consecutive weeks, its best streak in nearly seven years. No other morning news show has been number-one in the demo for as long a streak. TODAY has also won 17 straight sweeps in the demo. Additionally, TODAY won in total viewers last Monday and Friday.

TODAY narrowed the total viewer gap with GMA by 44% versus the same week last year and by 18% versus last week. Season-to-date, only 58,000 viewers separate TODAY and GMA, and TODAY is posting its biggest lead over CBS in three years.
