National Geographic presents GENIUS, the network's first-ever scripted series, based on the Walter Isaacson book Einstein: His Life and Universe and executive produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, with Howard also directing the first episode. The all-star cast includes Geoffrey Rush as Professor Einstein, Johnny Flynn as Albert in his youth and Emily Watson as the scientist's second wife - and first cousin - Elsa Einstein.

Over 10 episodes, the series takes Einstein's story beyond the halls of academia to explore his struggles to be a good husband and father, and a man of principle during a period of global unrest. His daringly creative mind often landed him in trouble with his loved ones and peers, but also helped him to usher in groundbreaking discoveries that reshaped modern science.
This past April, May and June, the folks at National Geographic aired the first season of the show, centering on scientist Albert Einstein. It was popular enough that they've renewed it for a second season, which will focus on renowned artist Pablo Picasso! And now Amazon.com has begun accepting pre-orders for Genius - Season 1: Einstein on DVD.

This listing is prior to the official Fox Home Entertainment announcement for the item, though, so instead of a street date Amazon merely says "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives."

Pricing is available, however, at $29.98 SRP. There are no other details available so far at Amazon's entry, but there is early box art (seen below; this may not be finalized yet, and could be subject to change). Stay tuned, of course, and we'll update you further on this title, just as soon as we find out more!
