Salvation - CBS/Paramount Announce DVDs: Date, Pricing, Extras, Package Art Called 'Season 1' in the studio info, it's coming to stores in mid-December

The countdown to the apocalypse begins! Earth is in the crosshairs when, within six months, an enormous asteroid hurtling through space will collide with our planet. To avert worldwide panic, an ingenious MIT grad student (Charlie Rowe) joins forces with an innovative tech billionaire (Santiago Cabrera) to work with the U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary (Ian Anthony Dale) to prevent Earth's annihilation. While the President has ordered the Pentagon's press secretary (Jennifer Finnigan) to prevent news of the asteroid from leaking, a visionary sci-fi writer (Jacqueline Byers) is brought on board to join the attempt to save the planet in this gripping, 13-episode First Season set packed with heart-pounding suspense and powerful performances. CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution have announced that on December 19th they will release a DVD for the CBS-aired 13-episode show. It's title "Salvation - Season 1" on the studio's announcement info, but the package art (seen below) only says "Salvation" on the cover and spine. And there's no word if the show will get a second season or not (one report says that a studio exec has referred to it as a "summer event series," meaning it's planned for only a single season). Whatever it's called, this will be a 4-disc set that has a list price set at $33.99 SRP. It will come with two featurettes: "What Would You Do?" and "Science Face: Technology." There will also be Deleted/Extended Scenes, and a video of Salvation at Comic-Con. The show stars Santiago Cabrera (Transformers: The Last Knight), Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society), and Jennifer Finnigan (Tyrant). It comes from Executive Producers Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek Into Darkness, Star Trek: Discovery and the Transformers film franchise) and Peter M. Lenkov (Hawaii Five-0).
