Broadchurch - 'The Complete 3rd Season' Starring David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker The final season of the British (ITV) program comes to DVD in the USA

Following this past Sunday's startling announcement that Jodie Whittaker will be joining the cast of Doctor Who for the next series (season), it's no surprise that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has chosen now to announce to retailers that the final season of her previous hit show is coming to DVD in the USA soon! Broadchurch - The Complete 3rd Season - which Whittaker co-stars in with former Doctor Who lead David Tennant and previous Doctor Who guest star Olivia Colman - is coming to store shelves this fall. The program was created and written by Chris Chibnall, who has written for Doctor Who in the past, and is taking over as the Doctor Who showrunner beginning with the upcoming eleventh series/season. Broadchurch is an exceptional show, which stands on its own and features incredible storytelling and acting. While we find it interesting to remark on the multiple connections between this show and Who (including others we haven't brought up so far, such as Arthur Darvill and David Bradley appearing in both programs), the reality is that folks who have zero interest in the enduring sci-fi show full of time travel could find a lot to pique their interest in Broadchurch a quality crime drama that demonstrates how a tragedy will effect many lives...far beyond that of the immediate victim. Sony (who is distributing to retail for eOne Entertainment) has informed sellers that Broadchurch - The Complete 3rd Season: The Final Chapter will be available on DVD in North America beginning September 12th (confirming our report from a few weeks back). The 3-disc set will be priced at $38.99 SRP. Package art isn't available yet, and neither are extras (if any) mentioned so far. Amazon.com has posted a listing for the title, but as of this writing they are not accepting pre-orders just yet.
