CBS NEWS LAUNCHES MULTIPLATFORM SERIES “EVERY STATE HAS A STORY” AHEAD OF IOWA CAUCUSES

SERIES SPOTLIGHTS ISSUES THAT MATTER TO VOTERS FROM ALL 50 STATES DRAWING UPON CBS NEWS, CBSN, CBSNEWS.COM, CBS NEWS RADIO AND CBS AFFILIATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Today, CBS THIS MORNING (7:00-9:00 AM, ET) and the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL (6:30-7:00 PM, ET) kick off “Every State Has a Story,” an ongoing series of reports that will highlight what matters most to voters in communities across the country leading into 2020 election night. “Every State Has a Story” launched today on CBS THIS MORNING with a segment on Iowa’s childcare cliff, a concern for low-income parents, a majority of whom are single parents who are heads of households. The series will air on CBS THIS MORNING, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL and other CBS News programs throughout the 2020 campaign with reports by CBS News correspondents and local CBS affiliate reporters from across the country.
Every State Has a Story” will exist in full online at cbsnews.com/everystate where viewers can search by state for stories on the pressing issues impacting local communities. CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 free streaming news service, will feature this series in addition to its regular feature “Local Matters,” which launched in 2018 and highlights local political reporters and newsmakers across the country. Additionally, CBSN Local services are now live in six major markets across the country, with seven more launching in the months to come.
This is one of the most important elections in recent history. In 2020 every voice matters. Our goal is to reveal America to itself,” President and Senior Executive Producer of CBS News Susan Zirinsky said. “That starts with reporting from the field and through our affiliates.”
We have an incredible network of affiliates, and we are now integrating them in a significant way into our continuous coverage of the election,” Executive Vice President of News Kim Godwin said. “We will tell the stories of American families and what matters in every corner of the country.
CBS News created and developed “Every State Has a Story” to hear from as many people as possible across the nation this election cycle. For the series, we are asking our audience and participating local CBS affiliate stations to tell us about stories that are resonating most in their communities with the hashtag #EveryState.
