On the Wednesday, October 2nd edition of “Tamron Hall,” Tamron dedicates the show to Domestic Violence Awareness Month, shining a light on personal stories of victims and survivors. Hall began the show with a sit-down with her nephew Leroy Moore, who spoke publicly for the first time about the death of his mother; Tamron’s sister Renate, who was murdered.

During the show’s open, Tamron shared her personal story of coping with her sister’s murder:
“I carried much guilt for many years believing I had abandoned my sister and that I was more worried about career than family.”

Moore shared that he wasn’t aware of the domestic violence experienced by his mother saying:
“When I look back she would call me and ask “hey can you make it down for the weekend?” and every time I drove down there would always be tension in the household and that’s kinda when I look back I realize she was calling me down there to avert that tension that was in the household.”

Leroy and Tamron held teared up as he shared how he felt everything was taken from him after he lost his mom. Moore also discussed his personal journey of  having to “own his mother's death” and how that led him to wanting to help others, sharing “I had to realize there were things I didn't do and there were times I didn't say something when I should have and once I owned that I realized the best way to give back was to make sure nobody else went through what I went through.”

Later in the show, Tamron sat down with domestic violence survivors Lisa Whalen, Johane Alexandre and Nancy Tyler (East Lyme, CT) who shared their stories of resilience and how victim assistance organization Safe Horizon saved their lives. On victims who chose to remain in their relationships and why you shouldn’t ask victims why they’ve made that decision, Lisa shared, “We can all wear the same size shoe, the same model shoe, but we walk differently. We all have our own stories and our own ways of dealing with what has happened to us.”

Tyler also shared her unbelievable story of survival after her ex-husband kidnapped and held her hostage for 12 hours and the why she now feels a sense of peace after he was sentenced to 70 years in prison.

To close out the show, “The View’s” Sunny Hostin joined Tamron to discuss the latest criminal cases making headlines including the murder conviction of Amber Guyger and the recent updates in the tax fraud case against “Chrisley Knows Best” stars Todd and Julie Chrisley.
