On the Thursday, November 14th edition of “Tamron Hall,” Jordan Steffy, a high school student from La Porte, IN who was bullied in school for being gay, joined Tamron to talk about his classroom fight that was caught on camera and has since gone viral. Jordan shared that he has been bullied since the second grade, before he even realized he was gay. Jordan described reaching his breaking point in this particular incident, when a new kid in class, whom Jordan did not know, posted a hateful meme on social media about him. Jordan said “It just hit me that I don’t even know who this kid is.”  WATCH CLIP HERE

Jordan’s mother, Angie Bush, tearfully joined in the conversation saying, “It just makes me mad. I’m tired of it. I’m tired of him going through that. I’m happy he stood up for himself.” Tamron noted that the other student involved is now being bullied on social media from those claiming to be allies of Jordan -- a response Jordan is disappointed by.  Jordan explained why he came to his bullies’ defense: I just want all of the negative comments to stop. I have no idea what’s going on in his life, as he has no idea what’s going on in mine. I can’t hold what he said accountable against him because I have no idea how he was raised, I don’t know personally again, what he’s going through.” WATCH CLIP HERE

Angie shared with Tamron that she made the decision to pull Jordan, who was suspended from his high school following the fight, out of school and home school him instead. Jordan chimed in saying, “I at least want to have my last day there to, ya know, say bye to my friends and things like that, give out information, clean out my locker, ya know just kind of say goodbye… it’s hard.”  WATCH CLIP HERE
