CBS ALL ACCESS ORDERS “THE UNTITLED RICHARD LINKLATER PROJECT” TO SERIES

Richard Linklater and Bill Guttentag to Serve as Executive Producers
PASADENA, Calif. – Jan. 12, 2020 CBS All Access, CBS’ digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced a new original series order for THE UNTITLED RICHARD LINKLATER PROJECT, a docuseries executive produced by Academy Award® nominated filmmaker Richard Linklater and two-time Academy Award® winner Bill Guttentag. Produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Dr. Phil’s Stage 29, Linklater’s Detour Filmproduction and Guttentag and Nayeema Raza’s 1891 Productions, the 10-episode series takes place in and around Austin, Texas, Linklater’s hometown, and will provide a window onto the colorful and diverse world of animal rescue through moving, humorous and powerful stories of animals and the humans who love them.
I come to this project hoping to shine a light on the folks I’ve met who are making a difference everyday in the lives of unwanted, abused and disabled animals. What strikes me most is the joy and discovery on both sides of the relationship between the animals and their human caregivers. These are inspirational stories that I believe will be a positive force in the world.” said Richard Linklater. “I’m grateful to CBS All Access for their support in this adventure.”
We are thrilled to be collaborating with Richard, one of the most creative and ambitious artists of our time,” said Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President, Original Content, CBS All Access. “His profound passion for animals – and the humans devoted to them – is apparent, as he reveals rich, nuanced stories, nowhere more emotional, hilarious, or revealing of character than through these dynamic, and sometimes unconventional, relationships. Richard’s unique brand and keen eye will make an excellent addition to CBS All Access’s early expansion into unscripted programming.”
In addition to Linklater and Guttentag, the series is also executive produced by Dr. Phil McGraw and Jay McGraw of Stage 29, and Julia Eisenman. The co-executive producer of the series is Nayeema Raza.
THE UNTITLED RICHARD LINKLATER PROJECT joins CBS All Access’ growing slate of original series which currently includes THE GOOD FIGHT, NO ACTIVITY, TELL ME A STORY, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, WHY WOMEN KILL and the forthcoming INTERROGATION, THE STAND and THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, with additional series soon to be announced. CBS All Access is also the exclusive domestic home to STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS and STAR TREK: PICARD, featuring Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard.
