WE tv released today a clip of Queen Latifah opening up about the death of her brother from an all-new episode of “Untold Stories of Hip Hop,” set to airing tonight, Thursday, October 3 at 10pm ET/PT. During her exclusive interview with Host and Executive Producer, Angie Martinez, Queen Latifah speaks about being broken by her brother’s tragic death, saying “After my brother passed away that ruined my world, rocked me to my core. I’ve never been the same since.”

Later during the interview, Queen Latifah spoke openly about being depressed after losing her brother and how she really didn’t care about music anymore and wanted to quit. Queen Latifah shared that it was people like Heavy D. that helped her pick herself back up, saying “God bless him, it was Heavy D…Heav had lost a brother….  To just know people are there when you need them.  You have to grieve in your own way, and I put my emotions into the music, which is my safe place, my home.”
Also in this week’s episode, Ja Rule shares shocking details about being kidnapped by an African warlord and Fat Joe reveals what really happened in the days leading up to Big Pun’s death.
